Liverpool Thread - 2021/22

In the summer of 2023 his contact is up and he can walk on a free. United and Chelsea would no doubt be interested. He's currently 29 and probably looking at a 3 year contract worth £20million per year.

Either he comes to an agreement with Liverpool which could mean other players ask for parity or they sell him this summer for around £60 million with no doubt Barca and PSG interested. I can't see them letting him run his contract down especially if Diaz impresses.
Once again the issue comes down to FSG not wanting to spend the money...I think everyone knows you are going to have to pay him, the issue coming with anyone who wants parity or something similar.
I heard a friend say, although how on earth he would know, that VVD has something in his contract saying that he has to be the top paid player. I wonder if that is perhaps, if true, the sticking point as if they pay Salah then they have to bump the rest.
If that is true then personally I would say sell VVD as he doesnt look anywhere near as assured as pre injury.
If you are going to get rid of any of the front 3 then it would be Firmino first then Mane, but no way Salah

So Klubshopklopp says the dippers have no chance but the Beeb have to ask if they can catch us.
Like moths to a flame, like orcs in the dark out come the great unwashed to spew their bile on HYS.
Amongst the plethora of City bingo calls comes the beautiful claim about inflated sponsorship deals.
Just one question for any lurking dippers ?
Tell me honestly that there isn’t the faintest stench of monetary malpractice when you sell a flat track bully of a midfielder to Barcelona for ...... wait for it £135 million ?
Transfer only happened due to neymar to PSG.

So in a roundabout way, dirty Arab oil money goes from PSG to Barca. Barca in the next window spunk over half of it on Coutinho. Where was the outrage from liverpool fans about receiving money from the I'll gotten gains of a sovereign state. Yes it didn't come directly, (is that money laundering?) but the point still stands. Plus the dirty oil money they received from Raz. Hypocrites of the highest order!

Yes FSG are a problem and I could well see VVD having a parity clause.

There is no doubt Salah has spoken with KDB and others who are on the £350k mark and he wants parity. It remains to be seen what Liverpool do. Firmino is now no longer a regular with the emergence of Jota.

Some serious rebuilding to do for sure, but still think they’ll be our closest competition for the next 5 years.

I think LFC board have a genuinely difficult decision to make with Salah. He is imo the best player in the world at the moment but would LFC be wise to give him a very expensive long term contract? No one knows how his game will change as he gets into his 30s.

I agree about VVD. Still playing well, but not as imperious as he was pre-injury. Laporte is not the same either.

Yes you would like to think they will be, however a lot depends on FSG. At the moment the maxi8mum wage they will pay is £200k whereas us, Utd, Chelsea, Real, PSG and Barca will pay £350k.

They've done well via Coutinho and Suarez cash, plus the impact of Salah. Depends how long Klopp stays, the attack is sorted. VVD doesn't look the same at the moment and the midfield is very reliant on Fabinho.
The future of Salah is key.
