Agree mate. They have been able to rest players because of such a favourable CL draw and today was the day they really had to dig in. Credit to them though, they were there for the taking. For all the bullshit around Clubshop they have had the luck this season , two penalty shoot outs and a Champs league run that drew them against the mighty Villareal & Benfica , where as we had Atletico (who beat the scousers last year) and Real (who will beat the scousers this year).
You need good fortune to win multiple cups , luck of the draw etc etc , but to win a league titles its 38 games of endeavour , determination and consistency and we have proved with a likely four titles in five seasons that we are the best club side in England.

Did you sign off as @MadeOfStones before logging back on. Best team? I don’t agree. Winning on Pens in 2 cups, second in the league and runners up in the champions league. It’s an ok season. I don’t see what they have done to deserve such high praise. Maybe you can explain why we have been told over and over again that you need to win back to back titles? Maybe you could explain why you think Liverpool deserve accolades but city do not?

I don’t know why some people are trying to convince themselves that they’re not that good. We’re an exceptional team, and there’s barely been a cigarette paper between us in recent years. They’re extremely dislikable, but to pretend they’re not an outstanding side just seems a bit churlish. Stopping them winning the league (and probably the quadruple) would make this one of our most rewarding titles to date.

The thing is they aren't the most magnanimous club in the world and the endless amount of praise they keep getting makes it impossible for me to add some more fuel for their ever growing ego. They hardly gave us any praise in 2018-2019 (the season where we won the domestic treble). There was only one booking in the cup final and it wasn't a Liverpool player who received it (I'm not suggesting James didn't warrant it). And that despite Mane and Milner doing their usual bit. However putting that to one side, that wasn't the reason Chelsea lost the cup final.
