I'm no fan of any of the players he listed there but the fact remains that those guys were considered amongst the best in their position for the best part of a decade. Van Dijk managed about 3 years at that level.

Being ration the last 3-4 years Liverpools defence has performed well, however it has not been pressed as often as this years, as previously the midfield was more solid and the attack with mane more dangerous, the rare times the back 4 of AA, VK Matip or gomez and Robertson were pressed in the last few seasons they fell apart quite easily.
