This s so true, I mean Manchester has a very similar make up, working class, former colliery areas, huge Irish diaspora all of that, but modern football is ridiculous, wages that are obscene, prices that are ridiculous, travel so expensive. It's hard for genuine socialists to reconcile their support for a Prem team. Goes against normal beliefs of equality really. mean 200,000 - 500,000 per week is crazy when we have more foodbanks than McDonalds currently. We have a warped mind set. I can't leave City alone tbh, i know loads who think the same and loads who now only watch non league football. But ..non league football is just the same mind set with less money ...look at Wrexham for e.g. huge investment - fans love it, they win
With £500,000 I would have financial security for the rest of my life. I don't have lavish tastes.
Currently I am 4/500 of the way there, not much time left....
(I believed in capitalism once...)

I literally haven’t
My brief point was about spending £250m on the farce
You said: "I remained seated yesterday as the anthem was being played for something I do not want the country to be, this is 2023 and to still have a monarchy with people kowtowing to someone who is in a position by accident of birth is ridiculous."

So you did.

Would we publicly question/heckle God at a Wedding or funeral?

We don't have the right to free speech, free thought is certainly done in private.

We do have the right to be respectful of differences and keep our mouths shut at appropriate times.

Should there be a public debate about a possible correlation between a City that has produced tragedies such as Hillsborough, Heysel, Bulger Killers, Olivia Pratt, Anthony Barton and last year's scenes in Paris?

We don't because it would be too disrespectful and better to keep our mouths shut?
There's also bus bricking and in my case, trains I was driving.

Between 1994 and 2013, the people of Liverpool, Merseyside and the wider north-west of England benefited to the tune of £1.3bn from successive funding programmes, with a further £450m agreed up to 2020.

That was matched either in full or in part during that time period from different British Governments.

Whilst over at Liverpool City Council, which has been under special measures and is being run by other councillor leaders from other cities appointed by the Government.

This page collates all the publications relating to the inspection carried out by Max Caller CBE into Liverpool City Council conducted under section 10 of the Local Government Act 1999, and subsequent intervention.

It is a matter of public record that Merseyside Police have for many months been conducting an investigation which has resulted in a number of arrests made on suspicion of fraud, bribery, corruption and misconduct in public office, both in December 2019 and in September 2020. Further arrests were made on 4 December 2020 in connection with offences of bribery and witness intimidation. This investigation involves a significant connection to Liverpool City Council.

So don’t believe the bullshit and lies that the British Government, Labour and Conservative, have never done anything for Liverpool.
European City of Culture once wasn't it?
(A bit of a misnomer if ever there was).
