I’m amazed how they now feel compelled to compare everything against the current (and recent history) City yardstick.

Their social media hordes are literally obsessed with how everything they do gives them some, however nebulous or illusory, advantage over City.

Yes, they had a good run last year, but they “only” won the two domestic pots on penalties and failed, yet again, at the final hurdle in both the Premier League and Champions League.

Their “Quadruple” fizzled out in misery, but their media constantly change the goalposts, usually resulting in their illegal flare-drenched parades suddenly being of greater importance than either title they lost!

Indeed, I don’t remember seeing a thing about the red flares that were thrown on the pitch at the King Power during the Community Shield. Oh well, it’s the “Kop,” right, and one song and a few flags is the height of British football support, right?!

Make no mistake, they’re a well-run club (with overseas investors, shock horror!) with a long history that has been reignited by a top, albeit obnoxious, passive-aggressive, coach, who plays attractive, aggressive football that creates excitement.

However, it is “amusing” that we are MORE attacking, as just as defensively sound, yet don’t get near the plaudits for the quality of the football.

In fact, City’s overwhelming, technically superior, possession is increasingly being spoken of as a negative “for the game,” and City’s oh-so-recent continued success addressed as “boring,” or still (ironically, quite boringly) derided as “oil money,” even though the CFG Sustainability Model is the envy of sports groups across the globe.

I find the Liverpool narrative about City to be both amusing and hypocritical, but no-one has ever said you needed to understand history or have a deep seated football knowledge to stand on the Kop and sing a song.

Liverpool have staked their claim to being “almost Champions” by “thismuch” multiple times in recent years, and have waxed lyrical about their first Premier League win in history, while gloating about winning the Champions League during a season when City’s name was on the trophy until a few referees decided it wasn’t to be.

In short, City are the current world benchmark for technically brilliant football, and playing second fiddle to that, even if they win games against us, is too much for them to bear.

This may be the Golden Age of being a City fan, since the late 60’s-early 70’s, and I’m enjoying it more than I ever imagined. This club/team has literally brought me to tears at times over the last decade. But, in all fairness, so has the Liverpool supporting media…just a different kind of tears! ;-)

We live, rent-free, in their heads, yet I know ZERO City fans who give a toss what the Scousers do. That speaks volumes to me.

Let's cut to the chase here, for all bingo's gurning and flashing of his new set of railings to the cameras at every opportunity, the fawning of the British media, them having the best players in every position and bingo himself being voted manager of the year, in a nutshell, when it all boils down, I know, you know, they definitely know as do the rest of the footballing world that they're just not quite as good as us which will once again be proved to be correct this season too..!

'IMAGINE BEING US'..!

They’ve run out of excuses now surely
City take the net spend trophy this summer and they’ve the best player in the world in nearly every position apparently

What could stop them winning the league this year? They’re also spending 100m on players now too and smashing their wage structure for other players

I actually think Thatcher was amazing

And if the Union bosses had stopped taking the piss and making extortionate demands then all would have been fine,
so actually yes Fuck the miners, and the steel industry and the car manufacturing, brought it all on themselves by being sheep and not standing up to their militant union shop stewards
Scargill was a true ****, as were most union leaders of that era,

As someone who actually remembers the miners strike, the binmen strike, the fire strike, the rail workers sleeping all night shift and taking the piss

all you thatcher knockers can well and truly get fucked

Just my opinion - now can we get back to football
You missed out British Leyland amd Red Robbo.

This is how it feels to be City
this is how it feels to be small
You won the minor cups
But we won the best cup of all

Dont agree with this. Yes there is a liberal supply of fuckwits on Sky, BT Sport, Talksport, etc. But I saw us showered with praise after we won the title - Match of the Day for one.

She did pull off the biggest con of all times, selling us something we already owned, funnily enough nearly all the money ended up in the hands of here friends eventually.
Oh I dunno mate, Boris managed to convinced “the great unwashed” that he was “one of us” and got them to vote for him, that was astounding amd very very clever.

Anyway, back on topic.

It cost less to bring it from Brazil by boat than digging it out of the ground in Yorkshire just before the strike

When the shit hits the fan, and the writing is writ large on the wall, the people who don't verbalise how we won the title will just look like a bunch of sour-Dipper loving muppets, and who, not even Danny Murphy, would want to adopt a stance that stares reality in the face and sez Fuck you, Reality, we wuz robbed!

Because of the political voting system of first past the post in Britain, thatcher knew she only needed to look after 51% of the population. That's why she is such a divisive figure. Fuck the miners , steelworkers, unemployed, sick etc. She didn't need their vote once she could throw crumbs at the lower middle class and get them voting she was onto a winner
As a statement of political belief, this is fine. However the reality is far more nuanced. For example, during her tenure NHS spending more than doubled. At a time of high inflation, A REAL TERMS INCREASE OF OVER 40% was achieved.

explain what part is factually incorrect

Scargill was a ****
Unions took the piss big time
Shop stewards were militant
Scargill was an idiot. He was completely played by Thatcher who spent the winter of 1983 stockpiling coal. She completely rope-a-doped him. The legacy, I’m afraid, is former mining towns and villages, that were thriving 40 years ago, being among the most deprived areas of the kingdom now, so no winners, really.
