Unfortunately, they are our rivals this season. they've played some hard matches and got wins out of them.
They haven't, they scraped a remarkable result against Newcastle but their fixture list otherwise has been kind.

They have a superb strike force but their midfield brittle and their defence downright poor.

They won't get near us. Nobody will.

He's a bit ungainly and raw but that's 13 goals for Nunez this season. Likely to finish with 15+, close to 20, with the number of games that are left. Not bad for a 23-year-old in a new country.
Pulled from another thread. He had a decent first season overall and now he's fulfilling his potential.

I always think of Keegan's Newcastle when I look at Liverpool.

The "if you score 3, we'll score 4" attitude, so doesn't really matter how suspect their backline is.

With big Virge not being the player he was two years ago, it is their defence that will be their undoing, imho.

I agree with the similarities, but that attitude is largely the reason that Keegan never won anything at Newcastle.

It'll get you so fat, but ultimately there are at least 10 games in a season where things don't quite go your way going forward, and you need to be assured at the back.

He's very good imo. I'd have loved us to sign him as well as Haaland back then. In the same way that I'd have liked us to sign Kane or Ferguson or even Hojlund this summer. I wish we had a sub- Haaland sub option in reserves in case of injuries.

(Also if the arrived via a submarine it'd be apt)

They've got through a few games where they've been bossed. They'll challenge us this season, and have the advantage of resting players in the Europa and also giving experience to some of the young players they have for them to gain experience. That Thursday-Sunday combination doesn't seem to benefit many in a title challenge though so we'll see. They're a threat in attack but shipping a lot of chances.

Worrying thing from the Weekend is how easily Van Dyke was outfoxed by Bowen's header. And he looked shaky throughout. It is clear that he is on the slide.

Upfront, the fire power is there to blow most teams away and if it doesn't work, throw on Jota and he will present a different problem.

The jury is still out on the midfield recruits, but Macalister was a steal for 35m.

The spine is there to do well this season.
