What are the specific skills you need to play this role? I’m curious.

I would think it would be positioning, and that’s one of his weakest assets at right back, alongside general awareness.
Cancelo was fantastic there for us, and he couldn't defend for toffee. Very similar to Trent in that respect.

You said a bit more than them going up another level. You said he was one of the best passers in world football.

How could that not be characterIsing him as a phenomenon?
He is one of the best passers in world football. This opinion is backed up by the fact he's broken the assists record from full back position. You can't be a terrible passer of the ball if you're creating that many chances/goals from defence, surely?

An assist is the pass that creates the goal, and he's got a record breaking number of them (54 assists in 198 prem games). You don't actually think he's just whacking it in the box with no target to aim for? You can't get lucky 54 times.

I think he's easily one of the country's most naturally talented players. I just see an enormous amount of potential there, and an empty headed individual who's arrogant, complacent and lazy. When a player goes past him, he's not bothered about getting back to defend. His lack of concentration is a weakness of his game.

If Pep got hold of him, I really do think we'd see a different player, but that's just my opinion. When Pep leaves City, I'd love him to manage England and see if this theory of mine comes to fruition.

You really think Pep could make a ‘lazy’ player change that Klopp couldn’t?

As much as you hate him, you surely must accept he gets the best out of his players. We performed better than the sum of our parts for years.

Pep is undoubtedly the best manager in the world right now. Possibly the greatest ever. But he doesn’t do any better than Klopp with that shit midfield we had last year.

A defender who doesn’t defend as he spends his time upfield playing long diagonal balls for speedy attackers to run onto. Takes all the free kicks in opposition half so basically he has no defensive role or if he does he doesn’t stick to it

He isn’t a terrible passer of the ball, he’s a very good passer of the ball, but he certainly isn’t one of the best passers of the ball either.

Just out of interest, where would being ‘one of the best passers of the ball‘ place him? In the top five?

Well Pep has managed to do it in the past without any fit centre halves, and recently without a striker, so if anyone could get the best out of the situation it’s Pep.

He's a good passer of the ball just that he always passes it to the wrong place.

Liverpool will definitely be in the top 4 this season. I think they've improved with the signings and had their off season.

Looking forward to them and the scum battling it out for 4th.
I hope you're right. Every fucking season I expect the Rags to be up there. I don't trust the refs to do their job and I 100% don't trust VAR where they're concerned.

I always expect their next manager to be the new Pep, their centre back to be the next Maldini and Sir Marcus of Findus Crispy Pancakes to be the next Haaland.......regardless of all the facts flying in the face of my fucking warped piss poor mind.
