Question.

What on Earth and under it made the Saudis offer Henderson £700k a week? He would have taken £400k a week. Perhaps even less.

£60 million spent on Szobozlai

£50 million spent on Mac Allister

Now they are paying £50 million for Lavia and maybe they gonna get more players, so in total they might be spending over £200 million this summer, but Klopp still cries how he can't compete and how Newcastle are outspending him.

Almost half of that will be oil money
That the club will be very happy with.
Mental gymnastics time for the cult

One was an absolute bargain, and the other overpriced, but they're similar ages (7 months apart), and came from similar level leagues, with very similar scoring records. Alvarez was even South American player of the year.

That only makes a difference if you're prejudging them though - what you cost makes no difference to how good you are, just whether you were good value.

I think Alvarez is brilliant, but if you think he did well last year (which he did), then Nunez's record was pretty similar. I suspect that Nunez's price messed up his confidence once he started finding it a bit trickier, but he's got a talent (even if he's also got the ability to hit row z on a regular basis).
I completely agree, that’s why you need to watch how much pressure you put on someone

Maybe some people would point blank refuse to live and work for the Saudi’s and try to struggle on with their millions and millions they already have

Maybe he could host MOTD for the BBC, the same organisation that covered up Paedos & lies when the Government needs the public on its side to invade Iraq. The same organisation that has never accused the Blair government of war crimes. When we accuse other nations we should look objectively at how this country behaves. We may not execute people but we are partial to carpet bombing schools & hospitals.

Whilst I agree with some of what you have said, Alvarez and Núñez didn’t have similar records.

Julian performed better in the league, despite having started 6 fewer matches, playing what many would argue was out of his favoured position.

Núñez had more than twice as many shots off target, higher rate of possession being lost, nearly half the successful lay-offs (his build up play was pretty poor), and fewer successful take-ons.

Per 90 stats:

He was not only better value, but simply better, full stop.

Perhaps Núñez will improve this coming season. But they definitely didn’t have similar levels of performance, even ignoring the difference in trophy hauls.
