It will eventually, but dropping any flimsily held belief for money looks like exactly what it is. Dressing it up as some sort of breaching, infiltrateing and attempted liberalisation of Saudi culture is stetching it and gives him far too much credit for what is purely a self-serving, greed fuelled endeavour.

Why is it classed as greed rather than earning?

Players are pushed into yes / no situations & it the becomes Henderson refuses to condemn or Henderson refuses to support.

Look at what happens each year with poppies on the shirts.

Personally I believe western players with western values playing in Saudi opens up more liberal thinking.
That's where we differ. I would never say "pushed" in relation to poppies. It's showing respect for young and older men and women, who for no fault of their own, died during conflicts.
If some can't show that respect - then quite frankly they're either being deliberately obtuse or not worth bothering with.

I agree but then others come from an area where they view it as an oppressive symbol of colonialism.

It’s always worthwhile considering opposing views even if we don’t agree.

No idea what to expect this season. Can anyone think of any other instance where a top club lost 5 potential first team midfielders (6 if you count Carvalho) in one go like that? I mean, sure, we have made a couple of strong signings but in what world can you throw 3 brand new players into the midfield for gameweek 1 and hope to challenge City?
I think the fact they don't play with a midfield will help them

OK - but what people choose to "view" is so often without context and therefore proper analysis. A rush to be contrary or attaching incorrect symbolism. Lots of wrongs in World history especially when viewed with a 21st century starting point, offence driven, myopia.

Anyway back to Jordan - greedy, amoral c#nt.

The problem is that you can't make that argument if you've bought wholesale into the sportswashing argument.

I've also thought the binary response to Middle Eastern countries involvement in sport was a total nonsense - it's clearly not all good or all bad, but like most things, shades of grey. The Henderson stuff just shows how many people have backed themselves into corners with their absolute moral stances.
