Liverpool Thread - 2023/24

Whenever Liverpool fail to win there must be a drama or someone to blame for a lot of their fans.

Whipped up by a compliant media they usually find something.

Today it’s the Doku incident. Debatable penalty to say the least but it will do.

Ive been anfield dozens of times but it never ceases to amaze me what an utter shit hole the surrounding area is.
Is there just not 1 penny invested by the club?
The club turned it into a shithole. They bought houses and boarded them up. Left them that way so they could buy up the remaining houses cheaper. Once they had them all (around 20 years) they knocked them down and used the space. Thoseeliving in the area suffered. Now the shops and eateries survive on matchday revenue. They fucked the locals over and never gave 2 fucks. That is socialist for ya.

Hate them as I do, it would be easy to talk smack about them, but they schooled us for 2/3 of that game and were unlucky not to win.

They worked harder, faster, and longer than we did and it showed. We have become so used to the pedestrian life of playing attack vs defence that when we come up against a top team that says “OK, let’s put you under pressure and see what you’ve got,” we haven’t seemed to have the answer this season.

We have a great team and some world class individuals, but today we were outworked by about 9 of 11 that couldn’t get a kick at City on a game day!

Everyone talks about this being City’s time of the season, and it has certainly been that way in the past, but is 2024 one year too many? Is the youth and exuberance, plus the extra year of experience, going to push Arsenal beyond us this season? Is Liverpool’s industriousness and “never say die” attitude going to win them an 11th game in added time?

The Arsenal game on 3/31 is going to speak volumes about our desire and ability this season. We have a tough old run-in and we are miles behind last season on this showing.
Not sure it was a case of "schooling". Whilst overall iIthought it a brilliant game of football, I kept on thinking what has Pep done to them today? Or what is wrong with them?
To me, it just looked like you didnt play, or at lreast didnt play as you usually do. I saw that teamsheet and thought Gomez was going to be tied in knots and would get a yellow in the first 15mins. I expected everything to go down that side yet Foden, who surely has the beating of almost every full back in the league, hardly seemd to get the chance. Bizarre for me, but equally I was very very glad.
Someone said it a few days ago, that only way City dont win is if you dont turn up...whilst I think you turned up, you certainly werent at your best.
Obviously I think it was a foul at the end (but I would), but to a degree I am fairly happy that it wasnt decided by something like that.
Arsenal going mad in front of goal now takes on an ominous look for both Liverpool and City.
It gets tighter and tighter.

Just imagine the rags and dippers needing 2 penalties each to win a game in the same weekend.
Sky would of wanked themselves into a frenzy

Cheers for the insight.

A great read even to this day.
