I agree.

Surely Saudi will offer him unthinkable money to have a current Saudi League player winning the Ballon d'Or later in the year, and all that potential publicity for them.

You could say the same for loads in the past that have been hard done by, Salah deserves it.
I can't think of anyone else who even comes close

did anyone come close to haaland when he didnt win it? Im just asking what he has done this season that hasnt been done before that makes him so utterly deserving above all others.

What has this season got to do with Haaland ?
Salah is the stand out player across Europe this season, nothing you say will make that untrue.

It's classic Liverpool though. Deciding who the best is in February before they've actually won anything. What if Real Madrid win the treble and Liverpool only win the Premier League? Will Salah still deserve it?

It shouldn't be just about winning trophies, plenty of players have won personal awards & not won trophies.
I get what you're saying but up to today, Salah would be a deserving winner.

is he tho, robert lewandowski has scored 34 goals for barca so far this year, they 2 are challenging for the league and are still in the cl?

Harry kane has scored 32 goals for bayern, they are also challenging for their league and still in the cl

My point is the best player and most deserving player of that season doesnt always get it and of course haaland has something to do with it, he came in scored the most goals ever in a pl season, broke every single record there was to break in a treble winning team and didnt win it. so the standout player in europe doesnt always win it.

It shouldn't just be about trophies, but it absolutely should be about performing on the biggest stage, and that means you can't judge it in February, because all the big games are at the end of the season. Imagine they get knocked out by PSG in the next round. There's not a chance the award is going to a player in a team that only reached the last 16 of the Champions League.

The thing that Salah does have in his favour is that it might be seen as an award for his whole career. They didn't give it him when they actually won the Champions League and then the title the next season, when they probably should have, so they might do it now to make up for it. And yeah, if they go on to win the CL or get to the final, then he'll definitely be a deserving winner.

Im not being contradictory, im just trying to pose a genuine question why salah is so deserving of it when he hasnt done anything this season that kane and lewandowski arent also doing to.

Im not saying he hasnt been a fantastic player but there certainly does seem to be a massive media push from the red media to get it him when he isnt doing anything this season that hasnt been done before and isnt being done by other players in european leagues

Agreed.

Haaland hands down should have won it for the Treble season he was sensational.

If Salah wins the Champions League this season along with a Premier League title and possible League Cup he'll definitely deserve it, He's also currently top of the goals and assists charts in the Premier League. I don't like the **** but credit where credit is due he's been by far the best player in the league this season and possibly Europe.

Genuinely can't think of anyone else who would deserve it if Salah went onto win the above.
