Well this was certainly the treble/quadruple Liverpool style: dumped out of the cup by the team bottom of the championship, beaten at Anfield by the champions of France and comprehensively outplayed by the Geordies. Unfortunately I can't see the scousers not winning the league - unfortunately Arsenal are far too experienced bottlers to put them in too much danger. Still there'll be no end yet to the "Are Liverpool still the best team in the world?", "Is five years of domination over for Liverpool?" and "Are Manchester United Liverpool's only realistic rivals?".

I think being so far ahead has hampered them a little, with also weird squad management at times. We have thrown about 3 fa cup semis because we had a tough CL tie coming up shortly after. Interesting theory, couldn't say that some of them are on the beach already in March but perhaps the notion that the title is a mater of when and not if is creeping in and if so thats on Slot. Agree on the for granted, Pellegrini winning this and the league during his first season in charge in 2013/2014 barely warrants a mention in dispatches despite it being on paper a better season then this Liverpool teams.
 
Very unfair to find themselves up against a club with owners from the middle east, how are they expected to compete?? Well done the toon

I agree with you here about the momentum of winning and needing to fight. Which Liverpool don't really need to do for the rest of the season and perhaps has led to the drop off in other comps.

Drawing Sheffield United in the semi final was a big help for us in winning the treble

We’d have been doomed had it been Plymouth instead.

The scouse police were helping them onto the vans, no faith at all in GMP I am afraid they get a lot of things arse over tit.

A football related crime.
Begs the question as to what the punishment would have been if it had been a regular Saturday night in town.
And a 7 year banning order!
