Liverpool Thread | 2024/25

They are a great team who will win the PL easy this season .
The reason they are so great is they replaced the team and did it very well something we should do and hopefully will.

they are young fresh and hungry , but this costs .But because its Liverpool the media darlings no one talks about that.
so I will.
the team that plays now .
Goalkeepers: 67 M
Defenders:135 M
Midfield :151 M
Forwards: 277 M

So the squat costs : 630 M

The Midfield and the forwards - Salah are all new . Slot looks very good manager but he sure was given a good team to work with.
Hard to disagree with this.

Trunt is fucking off to a proper big club I see.

Just been on an interview on SSN and he’s just said with a straight face he thinks he’s the best right back to ever exist.

Thats a relatively cheap team for the squad they currently have.
Darwin Nunez is probably the only one that hasn't achieved.
I thought McAllister was a little expensive at the time but he looks like a good acquisition
Low key they've done exactly what we did under Pep at first and what we've moved away from, buying players a little under the radar for a decent but not headline making fee

Szoboszlai £60mil
Dias £49mil
Jota £45mil
Gakpo £45mil
Konate £35mil
Gravenberch £25mil

Kinda similar signings to
Rodri £62mil
Mahrez £60mil
Dias £60mil
Bernardo £45mil
Walker £45mil
Ederson £35mil

Unfortunately those kinda level transfers we've been getting it a bit wrong, like Nunes, Phillips, Doku (?) And we've gone for "higher profile" players like Haaland, Grealish, Gvardiol (his potential was high profile)

Think buying away from the Prem is a good idea, like Akanji or Alvarez more recently

Carragher whinging on Sunday that he’s going to leave for free and it’s not right now he’s whinging that Madrid have offered to pay and they are only doing it cause they know Liverpool will reject it. What the fuck does he want

He’s just piped up with the whole “local lads can’t leave without the ferals losing love for them” nonsense. Like Trunt is going to give a fuck what Billy from Old Swan thinks.

McPoint and Owen both ran their contracts down and took the ferry across the Mersey to Madrid. Players don’t give a fuck what locals think and let’s face it most locals have been priced out years ago anyway.

I believe foreign clubs can approach Premier League players in the last 6 months of their contract:

Am I wrong. Is the BBC wrong?

Why would an approach from Liverpool be turned down.

I appreciate they are merely aggregating, but it still seem an usual take.

Liverpool have turned down an approach from Real Madrid to sign England right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold, 26, in January. (Athletic - subscription required)
