Did I?

Tbh, speaking from experience I wouldn’t judge a manager too much in their first season. Pellegrini won the league and Pep’s team underwhelmed. It’s year 2 and beyond where you find out how good they really are.

Probably important to point out that Liverpool have a habit of just giving it up some seasons after doing well in previous ones. A couple of years ago you were mid table and only made the Europa after a late surge. Maybe a mentality issue where you can’t do it year in year out like City have?
I beg your pardon?!? Mentality Monsters don't you know.

I don't know if you realise (it pretty much seems you don't) but Guardiola and management, for the most part, has looked at potential and outcasts and moulded them into his footballing philosophy, not just picked great footballers.

Great footballers are everywhere, great philosophies are not. You can take an average player with a good brain and make them better under an excellent philosophy. You can't take a dumb but excellent player and mould them via the same philosophy.

You can often see how players excelled under the Guardiola system for the first team when they've left City and don't produce after, as a general rule.
The same goes for managers. How many top coaches have worked with Pep at some point? Kompany, Arteta, Maresca, etc.

We played a style of football that was far more taxing and unfortunately unsustainable over long periods than Peps prime City team. So unfortunately it did catch up with us quicker and the drop off would come sooner.

So I dont think it was mentality as much as physically

You thought we would have a huge drop off after Klopp left to be fair. So not sure you really know what’s going to happen
After finishing just 3rd in the league and winning only the EFL cup what would a HUGE drop off look like-relegation?
In 9 years he won just one premier league title and in a season nobody else could be arsed turning up!

I'm sure Pep has done that but I'm not bothering to provide the evidence because by the time I do you will have moved the goal posts again to make your point seem relevant!

It’s quite simple, there’s only KDB that he didn’t sign.

So he did rebuild, he rebuilt a team that won the treble & 4 in a row.

Strangle metric compared to building a team into a record breaking centurions with players who finished 15 pts behind Leicester feels like a rebuild.

So you agree that Klopp was an inferior manager to Pep?

I class a rebuild as filling a squad with at least 80% of your own signings. Then once that team has run its course changing up it up again with probably 80% new faces and doing the business again.

Oh boy...

So do you understand how dumb your take was about if Guardiola would 'stick around' for a rebuild? You were shown two players that in are the squad today that were there when he came; Stones and De Bruyne. He hasn't needed to rebuild entirely because most that come in get the philosophy, believe in the process and not want to leave.

It's just age, wear and tear forcing that to come to an end.

Any chance you can concede the point you have been schooled on?
