In fairness, there's still loads of bitterness on here towards Milner for having the audacity to leave us on a free
Milner poisoned any respect I had for him with the way he engineered his departure. But I am seriously blinkered in that I love City and fucking hate the dippers. Any excuse to put the boot in on the Scousers and I'll grab it with both paws!

Milner got a decent reception on his first visit back but then he bad mouthed the club and did for himself. Boos all round after that.

I think the issue most have/had with Milner was not what he did but the way he did it, which was steeped in deceit.

It wasn’t even that for me.

It was how he seemed to go out of his way to criticise and ridicule Manchester City, after he moved that left a sour taste in my mouth.

Milner is one of the few (maybe the only) ex-City players I boo on his return.

Madrid is a city of culture: art, fine food and wine. There are places of architectural beauty and historical significance. Why would anyone want to leave the bleak, windswept, urban bomb site that is Liverpool? Why would they want to get away from the filth and the degradation of places like Toxteth and Norris Green? A land where teenage pregnancies are at an all time high, where the streets are awash with blood, syringes and burnt spoons, where making eye contact with another person would most likely see you in intensive care for a month?

Was there this amount of hate when kenny dogleash, Fernando Torres or jordan Henderson left their boyhood clubs where they had been nurtured in the academy and given their chance to join liverpool. Were they greedy bastards with no respect?

The scouse genuinely display actions and emotions of a cult.

Celebrating in front of City fans at Anfield for no apparent reason wasn't his finest move either. Little Yorkshire twat.

In 10 years he won 6 trophies for the scouse but he would have won a lot more here, and didn't he say that he moved there to win more trophies?

He would have been liked more if he said he was moving because of the lip smacking signing on fee.

The best thing about his move to Klanfield was the fact that - I don’t know if it’s ever been verified - he was the fifth penalty taker in the shootout at Wembley in 2016. Big Willy, Sergio, Jesús and Yaya made sure he never took it.

Also which is often forgot, he scored a really good goal against Villa for us, didn't celebrate. Scored against us for Liverpool and celebrated. Milner also got away with zero abuse in the media, for letting his contract run down for a sizable signing on fee, to go and play CM at Liverpool (where he spent his first seasons there at full back) in the same summer Sterling was vilified for gaining them a 50m transfer fee.

He got no abuse from the media, so much so that the media abused city fans for booing him when he come on the pitch as a sub, despite him never coming on the pitch at all!

Wasn't that someone's testimonial where it was reported he got booed whilst playing before someone pointed out that not only was he not on either team sheet but he wasn't even at the ground
