Retaining a title is not for everyone
aaahhhh.....remember those days. If you don't retain it then it doesn't count. I'm pretty sure Dippers were saying that about us as well, but mainly Rags. Well, I don't believe they've ever retained the PL - only had 2 chances though. However, still a long, long way to go.

Last time they retained a league title was 1984.

But they've challenged for more unprecedented quadruples than anyone else

For the most decorated team in English football 42 years since retaining a league title is pathetic. Wider events in the world at the time include the miners strikes, Ronald Reagan being re-elected US president, the Soviet Union boycotting the Los Angeles Olympics and the Apple Macintosh computer was launched.

The majority of their trophies were won when they could outspend everyone else and there wasn’t any FFP. Yet they like to cry about City.

Bloody hell, I'd have thought a bit later into the 80s.

They technically had the most points and best goal difference for 3 seasons straight, it's just we matched that and scored more goals in the season in the middle.

Retaining the title is a rarity throughout English top flight history. Arsenal haven't done it in my lifetime.
