They don't look great but still sitting on two wins out of two.

They now have that winners mentality to grind out wins. Should they keep that and improve on the pitch, they're gonna be very hard to stop. They have the mentality we used to have, where you just always fancy they're gonna get the result in the end. It's hard to topple a side like that. Plus they have the kop on their side, which is a huge bonus to them at home when the kop gets rocking.

Hopefully the signs they don't look great defensively continues and they don't just look beatable but actually start losing the games too.

I don't think any team looks super strong. The league is up.for.grabs. we can win it but more performances like Saturday and we'll just be giving the likes of Liverpool a free run at it again. Arsenal are good front runners but usually can't maintain it.

The way they are playing is unsustainable.

As it averages out over the course of the season they will eventually go through a tough period if they carry on shipping goals like they are and allowing opposition teams to have periods of decent domination.

I remember at the start of last season when we won 7 and drew 2 of our first nine and a lot on here thought we were putting in champions like performances when we got wins against Brentford and Fulham at home, a last minute winner away to Wolves and a last minute goal to draw to Arsenal.

When in reality all the signs were there that something bad was around the corner. Regardless of the Rodri injury because 5 of those games were with Rodri playing. We very rarely played well at all in any of those 9 opening games last season. We even got 4 wins and a draw post Rodri injury.

But then, boom, 6 losses, 2 draws and 1 win before we managed to stabilise and actually have a decent second half of the season. The best in the league actually.

The damage was done however.

When was the last time City put a 16 year old sub on, in a Premier League match ?
Cannot abide LFC, but they gambled, with it paying off.
Hopefully, other clubs have seen what the Scousers can actually create when you play a rigid, defensive formation against them.
Unfortunately, Newcastle went for the victory, which I fully can understand seeing how they bossed the match.
But, as is often the case with City, when you attack, you leave yourself open...
We don’t take chances .

Powerhouses my arse.
They are a good side, and among the favourites for the league, along with Arsenal, Chelsea and us.
They have two league wins in about 40 years, and one just happened to be last season.

@Mancini’s Pastilles we cannot control what other teams do, only ourselves. We delayed, and we are in transition. As a club we have publicly declared that. Periods of dominance like ours very rarely happen. We move on. They move on. May the best team win.

They were very fortunate last night, and arguably against Bournemouth, but this is what happens at the beginning of the season. You need to stay close while you are not in the best form. Then you move away while others struggle to cope with the fixture pile-up.

You just through us in as favourites for the league and thought we wouldn’t notice lol I take it you didn’t see us get dominated by Tottenham on our on patch

What Liverpool have that we don`t have is aggression. What Newcastle have is working their bollock off.

We didnt get dominated matey the stats show that, even that terrible word of XG had it 1.6 a piece, spurs are our huge bogey team and beat us at our best aha! Ill nor forget the europeon night and the toenail offside - im not saying it was a good performance because it wasn't but we didnt get smashed.

Fuck the stats I was there I watched it with my own eyes we couldn’t get out of our half for 2 separate 20 min spells

Ive accepted it. But WHY have we allowed it to happen

To be fair mate they have struggled in both games I have seen and someone is going to fuck them into next year soon, they look awful at the back too. They nearly got fucked by 10 man Newcastle and expended a hell of a lot of energy to get the points.

Granted we haven't been good but a few tweaks could bring us into contention,

I knew immediately when they said "11 minutes of added time" that Liverpool will score again. When that 16 year old came on I even joked with my wife and said "he will score now" . Wish I had put a bet on that

I am a season ticket holder myself but I just think we all need to just calm down and not overact, weve gone from last week a potential treble people was pipeing ( there was holes in that wolves performance also ) to now all doom and gloom. We are rebuilding and need to be patient.

I say let people over react to their hearts content. They'll either look very silly or very smart come seasons end. A bit like last season.

I don't disagree that we weren't brilliant at the start of last season, but Rodri only started one game (Inter in the CL). He was coming back from injury and came on as a sub at half time against Brentford, then played 21 minutes of the Arsenal game, where he got injured.

As for Liverpool, it's tricky to assess right now. They've made quite a few changes, like us, and it may well start to gel. Hopefully not, and the first few games were a sign of things to come defensively. Of course, I hope the opposite for us, but it's probably guesswork about whether one, or both teams will be at their best this season.
