Perfect comparison. They are the modern equivalent of Don Revies Leeds.

Another couple of average performances and I’ll start to believe it, we had an horrendous start a few years ago and came through it.Horrendous performance by Liverpool last night . It is as bad as I have seen in 5 or more years. Last year it was klopps team Slot has made his choices and this is his team. We have seen t a huge amount of money backing him. It's up to him to now sort this mess out. We were extremely fortunate to be where we are in the league but you can't' kid yourself. He needs to find answers quickly If it wasn't for Allison we would have conceded 7 or 8 goals in the last 2 games
All we have had is average performances Nothing moreAnother couple of average performances and I’ll start to believe it, we had an horrendous start a few years ago and came through it.
With the proviso that Salah and Van Dijk are 33 and 34. Last season City slumped following injury to Rodri and the coincident ageing of KDB, Walker and Gundogan. I can see Liverpool replacing Salah through Isak but how do you replace VVD?All we have had is average performances Nothing more
Wirtz is one of those who star on the continent but look lost in the mayhem that is the Premier League. He may come good but it will take him a while. As blinkered as Carragher is, I would rather listen to him spouting rubbish than Owen...and that is nothing to do with him going to the rags. All down to him simply being the cure for insomnia.
The worry for me with the Palace result is if Slot doesnt play that match over and over and over. As they need to re-live that to understand where it is going wrong.
As some have said on here and as much as I hope it isn't true, but maybe Wirtz isn't as good as sliced bread! But how long will he remain on the starting team sheet?
One loss shouldn't cause panic, but it should certainly be a wake up!
Yeah, I get that, but he has an almighty price tag on his shoulders and he has to justify it - sooner or later. That it's happening to a club I despise makes me glad, but the player himself is under immense pressure, as he has been since he signed. I don't think he's worth what the dippers paid for him, and I'm sure I remember reading somewhere he'd done his cruciate ligament some time ago: if so £100 million (or whatever it is) is a big gamble the club have taken.Wirtz is one of those who star on the continent but look lost in the mayhem that is the Premier League. Hype is the word, alright.Lukaku is decent, in the right set up.
He has a brilliant understanding with KDB.
Isak appears to be the classic PL over hyped phenomenon because he scored a few goals.
Never worth what the Dippers paid for him, fuck em.
Apologies to the moderators for going off piste...It’s obviously fun to take the piss out of those sad act football social media reaction guys like the bald Irish fella, Goldbridge etc.
But we should also be thankful they’ve picked a relatively harmless subculture to focus their insecurities on. They’re one wrong social media scroll or mouse click away from going down the incel school shooting rabbit hole.
I think that description suits Arsenal better.Perfect comparison.
Am I missing something?

I don’t think there was any real chance of him coming to us, reading between the lines.I hope he doesn’t. I was so pissed off when he chose these wankers instead of us. Hopefully he becomes their Sanchez and he’s out on loan in Italy or somewhere in a year or two.
It is possible their ageing squad does not have the resilience to win back-to-back titles. Winning four in a row killed us last season. I hope LFC have made the same mistake we did.Apparently Alisson is out for 6 weeks, big blow to them unless the Georgian lad is as good as him, as great as Allison is he's strangely so injury prone.
To be fair you can’t really accuse Liverpool of standing still which we have seen other teams be guilty of in the past. They have added significantly to their squad and as easy as it is to say they have regressed if they get a point at Chelsea they will go into the international break at worst joint top of the table. It is possible their ageing squad does not have the resilience to win back-to-back titles. think they are complaining about being kept in an hour and half after the game??Am I missing something?
Most grounds don’t open the turnstiles until an hour and a half before KO, I know SJP doesn’t.
