And another thing. These lot crying about not being offside...

If you have to literally duck out the way of the ball while standing in the 6 yard box and in the goal mouth in an offside position, then clearly you are affecting something.

I don't even know why it needs to be any kind of talking point. I'd say that if it happened to us too.

Gary Neville was having this rule explained to him on air and he was still having none of it. You don't have to like any rule but that's irrelevant.

This is why I don't like when people say VAR is no good. VAR is fine. The issue is either refs not using it properly...or pundits like Neville not liking it when they do use it correctly because he doesn't like the rules. VAR is just a video, it has no biased views.

The rewriting of the ACTUAL RULES by professionals is fucking comedic. By the letter of the law he was offside, you can disagree with the rule as much as you want but you can’t be saying the goal should have been given
I fully support the decision as correct. However, the rules are somewhat vague and one could argue as dippers do that the goal was legal and should have stood. A common sense assessment rules the goal out everytime but the law could be twisted to allow it. A certain goal not so long ago at Old Toilet clearly demonstrates that common sense is not always applied by the officials.

I must say that I think the drop-off in Salah's displays has been nothing short of astonishing. Van Dijk isn't a big surprise but I didn't see it coming from Salah so soon as I felt he still had a good 2 or 3 years left in him. It might just be a form thing rather than his legs going but it was interesting to see how little impact he had on Sunday. Again, some of that will be down to how well marshalled he was but even when you can largely keep a lid on him, in the past he's invariably popped up at some point during the game to score a goal.
I know it’s been said already, but young Nico did an outstanding job keeping the falling pharaoh quiet all afternoon.

The more moaning and complaining they do just helps to show them in a very bad light as a club and supporters.

PiGMOL and their application of VAR in general has impacted upon every club, without such petty whining and trying to change outcomes/ decisions.

VAR and PiGMOL are a train wreck without credibility or integrity with plenty of examples to support those feelings. Even stronger claims about some of their decisions are not without question imho.

Most clubs and their supporters feel disappointed by the decisions going against them but move on and try and be too good to allow ref/VAR interventions to stop them from succeeding.

LFC and everything associated really need an influx of integrity and sportsmanship into their being as a supposed
" big club ".

The drop off from Van Dijk has been steady and was noticeable from last season and possibly even before. But as you say, Salah’s performances have fallen off a cliff in a totally unexpected way. A bit like Kyle Walker last season.
I think it’s the general consensus that van Dijkhead hasn’t been back to his best, since Jordan Pickford murdered him in the Scouse derby.

Its a fair point. Generally we are all anti VAR when the decision doesn't go our way. I would agree that if used properly, it could definitely add to the game. Not sure if we'll ever see that unfortunately.

Say what you want about Roy Keane but I liked when he pulled up pundits, especially Micah, for making excuses for the dippers by pointing out they did play at home in Europe during the week and it's just down the road from Manchester

I've seen a few people making excuses for them about playing 3 games in a week.....

So did we!!!

It's true it's not easy playing that often but the excuse doesn't fly when it applies to both sides.

Just shows how impressive 4 in a row is, when you consider we did it while playing in the other competitions with a huge workload. Dippers won a league title 5 years ago and couldn't maintain it. They're current champions and on their arses.

Yet people wanna write off Pep and City for struggling last season for doing something 4 times in row that the dippers are completely fucked attempting to do twice.

The dippers are not on our level.
And they had an extra day to recover from their midweek involvement in the Champions League than we did.

Gargoyle Gary was desperate for Littlewoods' disallowed goal to stand.

Wirtz has 0 goals and 0 assists. He played for over 80 minutes against City and I cannot recall him doing anything in that time. In the first half, City battered Liverpool and had the ball. In the 2nd half, City stepped back and allowed Liverpool the ball. What did they do with it? Not much. That's on Wirtz.

Liverpool were blown away in the 1st half but in the 2nd half they created 2 clear chances: Gakpo when he blazed over, and Salah when he lofted it wide. I thought in the 2nd half they showed that offensively they can still cause problems but I don't think LFC can recover significantly this season. The reason I think that is because all their defenders are poor. Any team that has the mentality to have a go at them will score goals against them. I think that explains why their away form is so weak, and their home form is strong. At Anfield, teams don't tend to have a go.
They created two chances when they were 3 nil down and a couple of our players were running on empty. I'm sure if they had got one back the City players would have raised their game and got the result

Those are just 2 VARs from many more City games that have gone against us with the scouse scum
