A rivalry with you.
Nah.
I think the Rags, then the West London plastics (rivalry from the 4 years we met in the CL latter stages and a couple of cup finals, trying to gerrard twice,Torres going there and the slip game),then the blues across the park are our biggest fixtures .
The Europa tie against the rags was always the bigger games to look forward to then the league cup final, whay because it's the rags and they are and will always be our biggest rivals.

In the 1970's one of my student flatmates was a big Liverpool fan and I went with him to Old Trafford to see United-Liverpool games. I can tell you that the rivalry then was nothing compared to the one the rags had with us. They barely mentioned Liverpool in those days; they were just another leading club. The media have created the Liverpool/United rivalry because they're two of the most followed clubs in the world and there's money in it for them. And that suits you because it's all you've got these days. Neither of you are likely to be in the top four in May and it'll be back to Thursday nights (although you might be lucky to get that).A rivalry with you.

You and us aren't rivals because we operate in different orbits these days but you hate us because we've become (or are becoming) what you used to be. You can throw the "5 times" nonsense at us but we're far, far more likely to make it one time (and possibly more) than you are to make it six.
Then Man Utd Liverpool rivalry was first made up to be a big thing for a Weague Cup game in 1990.
