We were poor; there's no other way of putting it. The first 15-20 minutes, we were okay-ish. After that though, I just couldn't see where a goal was coming from. As it happens it took two defensive fuck-ups from Mickeypool to gain us a point. Ah well, time to move on and put that performance to bed. As long as we learn lessons from it and don't commit the same mistakes again, all is not lost. They (yep; them again) say it's a sign of champions, playing badly and not losing.NiceN Sleazy said:A point there is not bad, seems to be some urgency lacking in our game.
As another poster in another thread pointed out, a couple of top quality
signings would keep everyone on their toes and nullify any complacency.
Other than that, I think I would have settled for a point at Anfield before
the game. Early days, onwards and upwards.
I think we should give Liverpool SOME credit. We were controlling possession for the first 30 minutes (61% possession to us at that point - impressive for an away team) but they outnumbered us in midfield and scored from the corner and either side of half time were well on top. They had the crowd with them, players looking to impress the manager and crowd and Sterling caused us problems with his pace. Liverpool pressed and harried us out of our stride but RM changed it putting Rodwell on and moving YaYa further forward. Straight away we equalize with nice build up if lucky miscontrol from kelly setting up YaYa. Within 2 mins they are back in front from a great free kick which should never have been given. We hung on in there, Silva came on and began to create some openings and get the equalizer. We were finishing stronger and Edin could and probably should have won it although JR headed off the line for us. So it wasn't all bad and know one really knows if that was them at their best or they raised it for today (I tend to think the latter).

what does that tell you ?? It tells me that players do miss chances, once you accept that mate then maybe youll lay off a bit.. its embarrassing.
Sam-I never once said players do not miss chances. What I said is that the team cannot rely on Dzeko to get us out of a hole. First touch poor, never creates a chance for himself. I hope he is sold but if he is not I will still support the guy. FACT IS HE should have scored at the end. Sometimes you only get one chance in a game and that was his chance. Nice guy etc but does not give us what we need and neither does Mario.
He got us out of the shit against S'ton bud last week and QPR final day.. I dont want this to be two blues ranting at each other, lets just agree to disagree. we got a hard earned point away at klanfield today,Im happy with that.
