If we do win it will give us the mental edge they currently have over us, we don't do well against them because of the mental aspect, sometimes they've been jammy with it (Coutinho's winner from Kompany's half clearance after City were well ontop at Anfield was a killer) sometimes our players have turned in shocking performances. If we can win convincingly at their ground it will be one of the highlights of the season for sure and confidence will skyrocket within the squad.

We were also Clatterburged in that game.

Hart
Zab
Kompany
Otamendi
Kolarov
Fernando
Fernandinho
Navas
Silva
Bony
Aguero

Very very hesitant to start Kompany and Aguero three days after 120 minutes but I think they will. I think sterling would be a passenger this game and Pellers can use the excuse that he played 120 mins and needs the rest.

Agree with this. Sterling is still very on and off - a work-in-progress. This wont be one end booing - it will be a whole stadium of abuse for 90 minutes.

Without wanting to stray into hyperbole, I think this game could define our title chances. If we win then it's game on, lose and it's going to be very difficult. Impossible to say how today will impact on the game though.

I was thinking the same. It has the feel of the Stoke game at home after the fa cup final in 2011. Stoke put a lot of work into the final and it took us until the 70th minute to score, whether in the follow up game it was a walk in the park with much earlier goals.

Pretty much of the same opinion, fail to win this and I reckon we should look to secure top 4 and focus solely on the Champions League, although we really don't know what the top 3's title credentials are like yet...and we do love playing catch up. With that said, as long as Kompany is in the team I feel we have a chance of winning any league game.

Yaya hobbling on City's latest video on Youtube, assume its just a knock but don't know if he can manage 3 games in a row, especially after playing 2 full matches with one going to extra time. If he can then great but I can see Navas coming in for this one.

Hart & Navas will start I reckon. He might put Zaba in for rotation but Sagna really deserves to continue playing assuming he's not tired. Don't want to see Kolarov anywhere near this game, let him play in the home game to Villa if he wants to rotate, same for Bony/Iheanacho as well.

Can imagine Liverpool's players are more tired than ours having played Thursday-Sunday with exactly the same team.
