If they did drop into the Uefa cup, they would be entering a competition that Everton are in. I think they'd be interested in trying to out-perform them. I would like to see them get to the semi's and get dicked by Barca, the more they loose groung in the league the bigger priority the champions league will become.

They have got bigger problems with both Gerrard & Torres possibly out for 2 months, Carragher suspended (is it 3 matches?) and Mascherano wanting out in January. This leaves them a very poor side.

Like someone said earlier, fuck what they do our destany is in our own hands!

I agree. Benitez does not give a toss about our Carling cup. He disrespects our Premiership, proven by his recent substitutions, when Prem games were up for grabs. His excuse for subbing Their main man at the weekend? Torres played for 80 minutes and he needs 4 days rest. We are protecting the player. WTF .What’s that? He repeated the same spiel twice to the interviewer when pressed for a more definitive response.
