Living in the UK advice.

It’s all about perspective. I live in a beautiful part of the UK, have a job I truly love and can afford to eat in and stay at nice places so I think it’s a great place to live, in the main.

Realise that makes me very fortunate, but that’s my lived experience.

I’m sure I’d feel the same about pretty much anywhere in the world if I had the same broad lifestyle.

I think the weather is key to this question. It very rarely bothers me, and think it has manifest advantages, but I know it affects others far more negatively.

I love the UK…. of course it has its problems but most countries do. I lived in Oz for 18 months. Great country but much prefer the UK. Like you, the weather doesn’t bother me either. And the fact we have so many incredible European countries and cities on our doorstep is something that many take for granted.

There’s no one size fits all. If hot, dry weather for most of the year is your thing then don’t live in the UK!

I would also really miss the long summer days if I lived somewhere that was much closer to the equator, which I know some will think is daft!

Agree with you about having so many such amazing places to visit within a few hours.

I know what you mean.
When I lived in the UK I'd get depressed every October when the clocks went back.
I think they call it SADS.
Were all different, some people would hate the tropical weather where I live.

My mates an uber driver in an ev.
He works 70 hours a week but makes really good money.
He reckons the fares over there are higher so he could make more.
