Liz Truss Resigns as PM

if this is true she's an even bigger twat than i thought. this isn't taking sides either, doing this is a dick move designed to cause headlines and inflame the situation.

"Liz Truss has said she is considering relocating the British embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem in a controversial move that would break with decades of UK foreign policy in order to follow in the footsteps of Donald Trump.

In a meeting on the sidelines of the UN general assembly in New York, the prime minister told Israel’s caretaker leader, Yair Lapid, about a “review of the current location” of the building, Downing Street said in a statement."
Don’t most foreign embassies locate themselves in the capital. Don’t know of any major embassies in Manchester although I might be wrong

No, they're normally in Tel Aviv. The only leader who has relocated to Jerusalem was Donald Trump and he only did it to be a massive dick as it's a highly charged political move. Seems Truss is going down the "let's be a twat for the sake of it route", but considering the budget yesterday, moving the embassy in Israel is chicken feed in terms of dick magnitude.

Take the emotion out of your response and answer what was being asked. Embassies around the world are in capital cities, Jerusalem being an exception where there are a handful, not just USA.

Much of this is unarguable, the need to restrain those aspects of capitalism that produce unfairness is self evident. You should, however, give capitaliism greater credit for the alleviation of poverty than “some evidence”. The evidence is overwhelming, the latest example being China where 300m people have been lifted out of relative poverty and a similar number out of actual poverty by the adoption of state capitalism.
Strongly agree.
In comparison to China, India lagged because of socialist, government centric policies which strangled the economy.

The question really is, do you want a tiny pie equally distributed, or a large pie in which a few grab a large slice, but most are still better off than in the first scenario.

A lot of countries do not recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, due to its ‘disputed‘ status.

The UK is just doing its best poodle impression. It makes us happy :)

The pie is never equally distributed irrespective of the system. Capitalism means a bigger pie but there has to be a degree of equal distribution for it to be sustainable.

Our mistake is implementing policies that mean we have a smaller pie. The budget or whatever you call it, do not change that. Since we cannot, or will not, change the policies that mean a smaller pie, we are now reduced to betting the house on zero and praying it comes up, hence the immediate market reaction.

Eh? There was no emotion in my response and I'm not taking sides. It's been a long established diplomatic norm to not enflame tension by placing embassies in Tel Aviv so as not to cause violence, on either side.

So this Budget...

When most normal people have no money, and the country has no money, the idea is that we give whatever money is left to bankers in bonuses and to the few remaining rich people - because by definition they are good at looking after money.

You have to admit it is genius, as the rest of us would only spend it on frivolous things like food and heating and that's why we don't deserve any money.

Thank God for Liz Truss and her Cabinet caring for the Country as a whole by taking on board the advice of their wealthy backers rather than giving in to the clamour to help ordinary working families.

Three Cheers for Liz, maybe she is not as thick as she seems!

Well if they open it in west jerusalem then it will be within our foriegn policy, however East jerusalem is an occupied area illegally as recognised by the UK , UN and Europe.

If she opens it up there then she is being provocative and a tosser, Sensible leaders avoid this delicate issue by remaining in Tel-Aviv only idots stir the pot.
