I blame Bonar Law
Could she do both at the same time though? I suspect not.She managed to speak and walk in a relatively straight line - I thought both might be beyond her.
On the flip side, Major’s government weren’t quite the same shit show as the Johnson (and presumably Truss) administrations were/will be. Probably evens things out overall. After 2019 I thought it’d be a long time before we saw a non-Tory government. Now it feels far more likely. In ‘97 Blair, Brown, Cunningham, Cook, Blunkett et al, looked ready for government. Starmer has a lot to do to gain the same electoral confidence.
A very astute comment and fair question - the jury's out on that one.Could she do both at the same time though? I suspect not.

This coming Friday could be a first Black Friday after the Chancellor's statement. I know they mean well with their tax cutting strategy, but, with the best will in the world, I fear that their policies will immediately come under attack from international investors who will desert the pound, and if it doesn't plummet from it's present 40 year low, I'll be amazed.
She may be 'found out' very, very quickly.
We'll soon see.
And what is America renowned for these days? Economic inequality, a lack of social cohesiveness, excessive levels of crime and incarceration, racial and ethnic conflict, and family and community breakdown, none of which any other West European country would tolerate.
Except maybe for us.
