It sounds outlandish like a TV show plot but I wonder if she had some sort of breakdown which is why they were making vague excuses for her not being there making it sound serious. Then she turns up looking like she been sedated before she runs off again.
Why even show up at all, might as well have just went with the original excuse and saved the humiliation.

Yes, I for one genuinely believe that she has had some form of breakdown, which is why she has been absent at key moments over the past few weeks, and in particular why she stormed off at the press conference last week after only a couple of questions. She certainly looks like she’s had some sort of episode in that clip. I don’t say this lightly or in a sly way, as you don’t want to see anyone have those sort of problems, but she does give the impression of being completely overwhelmed by everything that has happened, almost to the point where she has been incapacitated.
I think this is one reason why Hunt has had such a free hand to determine policy since he has arrived, and perhaps why he agreed to take the job as well. By turning up to the Commons so late today, and not participating at all in the debate, she looks wholly secondary to Hunt now and I can’t believe that a fully functioning PM would want to give this impression, no matter how embarrassing the U-turn.
