I’d say anyone outraged by that comment is just looking for things to be outraged about to justify their support for their favoured party. It was a comment, but these 'throwaway comments' put the fear of the Almighty up a lot of voters, whether they were conservative or potential labour voters. What exactly was she attempting to achieve?
Does the PM actually do stuff in their constituency? When do they find the timeThe Prime Minister’s earnings are made up of £79,936 for her role as Prime Minister, and an additional £84,144 for being an MP.
It’s that sort of language and attitude that turns people away from politics and creates voting abstainers.I think her notion that there are 'scum' on the opposite benches doesn't endear her to anyone who thinks we are desperate for sensible government. Might have been alright for Aneuring Bevan, but Angie will never be Bevan!
I haven't got a favoured party, although I do have an ambition to vote for the Monster Raving Loonies, but I feel her comments are symptomatic of MPs who would promote a narrow agenda instead of putting their efforts into what is best for the nation as a whole.I’d say anyone outraged by that comment is just looking for things to be outraged about to justify their support for their favoured party.
I applaud anybody for standing up for what they believe in and getting involved in politics and being successful enough to become an MP... She's (Rayner) certainly had a few foot in mouth moments thoughIt’s that sort of language and attitude that turns people away from politics and creates voting abstainers.
It becomes a thing where serious people start to think ‘right, we’ll leave politics for the juvelines involved while us grown-ups will just get on with our lives in the real world ignoring everything to do with politics and whatever will be will be’.
