Liz Truss

I’m not the one that laughed mate. You were.

I see zero humour in Liz Truss or any of her sycophantic lickspittle supporters.
Ha - so - you are into whataboutery and distraction - more learning today - you are establishing a trend

Why not comment / confirm if you think............

"If those posts were placed on a thread about a Labour politician - there would be no end of posters (rightly) pulling people up for such misogynistic shit"

Is true - rather than distract and obfuscate?

Edit:

You probably will respond - but don't bother for my part

I can see the reality of your views and do not need more evidence - crack on

Nice of Truss to invite her mum to her new job on her first day

Considering she'll be judged against Thatcher, May and Boris I thought she did okay. She has more charisma than May and is less of a moron than Boris. She didn't get flustered by Keir and responded with humour whilst making her point (even if I disagree with her)!

Unfortunately from the policy changes she indicated would be coming I can't see an improvement. Whoever thinks the windfall tax would prevent investment is incredibly naive. Those companies will have committed to a growth strategy and will be sticking those record profits straight into their pockets. It will have no impact on their investment in the country. Similarly, corporation tax cuts would be fine in the good times where businesses are looking to grow but in these times I think plenty are looking to steady the ship and keep things ticking over without investing huge money to grow. There will be exceptions but will the revenue generated from those help increase our income as a nation in comparison to corporation tax increases? I'm not sure. The example she quoted was from rosier times.

It's a complex situation with no easy answer. Plenty of economists would have differing opinions on how to fix things. The government need us as a population to keep spending our money to keep the country prospering but it would seem their method to do this will be through grants to help cut living costs (no doubt only to the very poorest who spend very little anyway). We'll see. If anyone can educate me on the above I welcome it! I'm certain no expert on anything monetary.

What bollocks. I pull you up for misogyny and you accuse me of distraction? Put me on ignore.

It didn't help that she didn't have much to talk about yet - virtually a whole new cabinet haven't had time to create policy.

I wonder if there will be mass briefing of the energy help overnight, which is generally meant to be announced in the House.
Well, this lot do have history for trying to avoid debate and scrutiny.
But she should have had plenty to talk about on her first day, brimming with new ideas and solutions for rescuing us from the disasters which were inflicted on us by herself and her party.

I'm starting to think we are on a downward spiral that there will be no recovery from.

The older I get and the more I have seen I can't help but feel that something is Fucked up.
I think you’re right but also some decisions seem intent on accelerating that slide.

The tories have had plenty of time to come up with policies but they've been too busy fucking things up to get anything meaningful through. There's no reason to believe this cabinet will be any different. They still criticise Labour for things that happened 12+ years ago.
