Liz Truss

Got a quick summation, mate? Missed everything today and just catching up?
Basically going to max out the credit card and take a punt on getting new businesses to pitch up in the UK as a result of lower corporation taxes. Not sure where all these new businesses are , as there is a global financial shit storm.

Oh, and the tax payer will be paying the credit card debt

If they took 50% of the wealth off the ten richest families in the UK, it’d pay for the entire energy bailout and still leave those 10 families with £100 Billion between them.
Something is rotten in the state of Denmark, as a famous playwright once wrote.

I always felt embarrassed whenever our previous PM met other leaders, with his disheveled appearance and uncombed hair. Now we have a PM who walks with a "Pythonesque" lollop while holding a silly grin.
Considering how MP's are coached to the Nth degree in dress, speech and how to avoid answering questions, you might have thought someone would have mentioned this.

To be fair I think a lot of politicians can look and/or walk in a strange manner - Fabricant and Starmers hair come to mind - they are just so beyond normal life the can't see it and when they reach a certain level they won't be told it

thats the MO of the party of low taxation - they just keep repeating that and dumb arses believe them

Starmer asked her if she would still be against a windfall tax. She doubled down on it and said that she will also cut corporation tax "as that attracts more businesses to the country."
Cheers. Basically, she ain’t got a clue and pushed all the hurt back onto us in the long run whilst running down our national assets even further.

This government has been all about asset stripping and siphoning it off to big business. Nothing has changed, with the exact same incompetents just shuffled around, yet they now want us to believe things will change whilst continuing with the exact same rhetoric.

Absolute shambles, and they know it.

It's called the Peter Principle -
The Peter Principle states that, if you perform well in your job, you will likely be promoted to the next level of your organization's hierarchy. You will continue to rise up the ladder until you reach the point where you can no longer perform well.
Unfortunately, I think something went wrong at the very end.

How does a 2.5k cap work?
Does that mean I can have my heating on all day every day and I would still only pay the same as someone who doesn't put theirs on as much?

No. My understanding is that the maximum electricity price is such that an average house would have a bill of whatever the cap is. I assume this is based on something like a three-bedroom house with three or four occupants and average winter temperatures. You'll pay more than the cap if you have things switched on all the time or if it's a particularly cold winter, or if your insulation is shit.
Unless I mis-heard something on the radio last week.

So, do what you want, the UK public will pay for it later.

But, what about those on pay-as-you-go, do they have to top up to £2500 before getting a break?

So simplistic to these who have huge resources, still thinking they’re doing a good deed by cutting a ribbon on the latest food bank.

Just to remind you, she is already lying and obfuscating the reality of where this (same) government have taken us.

Get - Tories - Out!

Doesn't sound like a cap then.
