She didn't have a choice.
Her ineptitude got the country in such a mess that literally the only option was to undo what she and Kwarteng did.
The difference between her and Thatcher is that Thatcher had the sense not to take on the City / financial establishment, and everything she did had their tacit support. Truss was too stupid to realise that she couldn't govern in a direction that would spook the markets. The only historical parallel was our membership of the ERM in 1992 and our forced departure from it. Major had no choice then as Truss has no choice now.

We’ve had PMs who have caused bigger issues than Truss will do before she’s soon ousted but she’s the least capable I can think of, of any.
 
Anyone know if she’s going to be at the HOC this afternoon? If so, she’s going to look really bad sitting next to her new Chancellor winding back on what her previous Chancellor announced three weeks ago.

I think that people like Truss don't five a tuppenny ha'ppeny flying fuck about much, certainly not the shit show we've had for the last few weeks.
 
It has become a case of damage limitation and would not be surprised to Hunt stand in for PMQ's. It really would be putting a lamb to slaughter if decided to PMQ's. Even when Bonehead was knee deep in it he came out scrapping and throwing out any old shit like Savile, But Truss does not have it in her in to fight back in the words of Ian Brown "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog"

Labour have an Urgent Question after the Chancellor’s statement this afternoon. The PM should be there but won’t. She’s not in charge anymore.

She’ll be living it up on her £115,000 per annum allowance telling us the Tories got Brexit done while the ordinary folk of the UK graft away on 12 hour shifts / zero hours contracts / no holiday pay.

I think she will definitely resign, probably within the next few days. I think any delay is down purely to who they want to replace her.

It would not surprise me in the slightest.
 
She should not be allowed to resign before she is put on tv and interrogated by proper independent experts until she owns up to crippling the country. Then she should be forced to out the individuals in the right wing think tanks that indoctrinated her with their politics. Then she should apologise. Then she should be told to fuck off. A disgrace of a human being and an embarrassment to our country.
