Liz Truss

We need to get rid of this shitty viewpoint.

It’s beaten housewife syndrome - ‘Why break up with the dickhead when everyone else is probably just as bad?’

We won’t know how good Labour are until they’re in government and are given a chance. The odds of them being worse than what we’ve had the last 12 years aren’t far off zero. That alone is enough to have them in power.
Even if you were a Tory voter generally, surely at this point you’d be thinking Labour are worth a punt given where we are.

Why exactly don’t you think a Starmer-led Labour Party are capable of running the country?

I'm going for either 1 He's a die-hard tory who finally recognises that the people he voted for have fucked everything up but pride stops him from recognising the opposition are doing quite well.

or 2 He's a Corbynite so accepting Labour are competent without him is impossible.

Yep.

You can tell even on here some won’t change their mind no matter what.

People are treating it like football where they’re loyal to their team through thick and thin.

It’s wrong.

My vote is politically homeless but I have to agree with this comment.

I've never voted Conservative in my life and hate Corbyn with a passion. So you are a bit off there Mystic Meg.

Nearly all MP's are inept is my point. People seem to think a Labour government will magically sort things out but in reality it won't. Whoever gets in we are going to have to eat a shit sandwich.

Boris does at least get around the issue of legitimacy and the need for a general election, as he does have a mandate from the electorate.

It’s a surreal thought that Boris Johnson and legitimacy would ever go together, but there you are.

He's still the guy who got kicked out of office for -

- A massive scandal where 83 people in Downing Street were found to have committed criminal offences during the pandemic over 20 parties including in his own residence.

- Trying to block the suspension of an MP found to be abusing his position.

- Having donors secretly pay for redecorating number 11 and then covering it up.

- Illegally proroguing parliament.

- Going on holiday with a KGB agent without anyone else.

- Ignoring an MP sexually assaulting people and then lying about it when he did it again.

The problem with Boris is that he's only ever a fortnight away from a new scandal, and those past scandals that got him kicked out of office 3 months ago are going to be brought up as soon as the next one breaks.

I hadn't considered option 3, the joker who thinks all sides are equal.

If we had a Labour party that contained the kind of people that Harold Wilson had around him, or even Tony Bliar had to choose from, but they just seem to be the left wing version of the goons on the right wing.

What percentage of MPs do you think you could recognise? I reckon it’ll be under 50%, like most of the population.

How do you know that they are all inept then? It’s just lazy stereotyping, based on who is and has been in the cabinet since 2019.

Best keep voting for the conservatives then, because the kind of people they're putting out are doing so well.
