A few years back West Ham drastically overpaid in wages and transfer fees for Bellamy, Dyer, Parker, Neill etc. They have all been unmitigated disasters for them football wise and financially. And now we're expected to believe their value has risen.

The only way I could see this happen is if Hughes had a job lined up with West Ham next season and wanted a bit of spending money.

Just because you can play for Wales shouldn't be a plus when we are looking for sign a new player, after all Ched Evens in playing for them now and Andy Dibble did in the past, so not something really to shout about.
