Going to London in December 5th to 12th to do some Christmas shopping and hit a few pubs with the Mrs ........looking for non tourist pubs ......anyone recommend any that are not full of tourists like us :)

I have been watching these videos for ideas of what to go see ...... nice of Pep to show me some ideas .... did not know he spends time in London

If you're around Westminster/Pimlico I can personally recommend a few.

The Speaker - Perkins Rents
The Cask - corner of Charlwood St & Tachbrook St
The Windsor Castle - Francis St
The Royal Oak - Regency St
The Barley Mow - Horseferry Rd

Around St James Park tube station:
The Sanctuary - Tothill St (good pies if they still do them)
The Two Chairmen - Dartmouth St
The Adam & Eve and The Buckingham Arms - Petty France

If you fancy somewhere a bit more up-market with good food then there's the Thomas Cubitt on Elizabeth St but that can get very busy.

Staying here

DOLPHIN HOUSE SERVICED APARTMENTS
  • DOLPHIN SQUARE, CHICHESTER ST , LONDON, SW1V 3LX
It is just south of Pimlico north of the river according to the map ....
Well all the ones I posted are well within reach then. There's a great Tapas restaurant called Goya on Lupus St just a few yards away. Eat upstairs and have the tapas rather than downstairs, which is the main restaurant. For £50 for two you can stuff yourselves full of food and drink. There are supposed to be some decent pubs over the river in Vauxhall but I can't personally vouch for those.

Going to London for a week? Wherever you go a bending over job whilst those cockney fuckers take your pants down will be a feature of your jolly. It’s one of the most expensive places in the world and the beer is generally shit. Your “Christmas shopping” will be top dollar as well. However enjoy, great sights and vibrant in parts, Covent Garden is well worth a visit but it’s expensive.

Two of my favourite 'cheaper' eats

Homeslice (Neals Yard) - Fantastic pizza

Flat Iron - great steak
