A bit of a stab in the dark but here goes.

In a few weeks, I'm on a training course in London for a weekend. I've wangled it for the missus to come with me and we've got quite a bit of time spare. I know I'll be shelling out quite a bit but with a family holiday to Paris a month later and Christmas round the corner, I want to give the missus a decent weekend away but not skint myself.

Are there any good offers that people know about for stuff like the London Eye or the Tower of London or will we have to scale the wall at Buck House and risk arrest?

She's already turned her nose up at a gander round the numerous London football grounds.

Help me Cellarites.

Eight minutes and no one has said just smash...

Never mind!

Just tell her you're on a Sky Sports-sponsored tour of the grounds as part of your screen test.

I'm sure she won't mind being the cameraman!

It sounds like you've already got accommodation sorted or I'd agree with the weeeknd breaks things they do in Asda and other supermarkets.

One thing you don't hear mentioned that much is all the wonderful parks in London. Maybe not the best time of year for a picnic and stuff but I'd still put it ahead of shit like Madame Tussauds and The London Eye. If you are seriously thinking of going on that wheel, I can virtually guarantee you will be disappointed and feel ripped off. Not to mention the half a day you'd have wasted queuing up for it. You'll not pay much more for one of those cruises down the Thames with a three course meal on the way. The lunch ones are pretty good value actually now I think about it.

Lots of stuff to do down here that doesn't cost a fortune. All of the main museums are still free (I believe). The surgeons museum (Huntarian) is interesting if you like....odd....stuff...

But the history museum etc is free.

I think st pauls cathedral is about £16 so not ridiculous money. You can walk all round Westminster Buckingham palace, the mall for free. The architecture is beautiful.

South bank is a nice stroll, as someone said above, the parks are nice.

Depends what you're in to, though.

If youre a foody and are there Fri/sat morning go down to borough market near London bridge. It's brilliant.

But, I think once you get to euston there is like a tourist information centre. There's a London sights type leaflet that does offers etc. You should be able to pick up some deals there.

My station definitely does them, so I would imagine euston does and all

Theatre and a meal. Can't be beaten. Me and my misses do that every couple months. Always eat restaurant around Farringdon way , still central but away from the hussle and bussel.
