Long weekend in Istanbul at end of May - Turkey on Govt Red List

Yes. It's a good thing, as I've stated.

The data is widely available. They peaked at 63k cases on April 16th but that has been coming down rapidly and was 31k today. This is before the lockdown takes effect. Authorities are expecting it to be 5k per day by the end of the lockdown on May 17th.

The current 7 day average case numbers is 338 for every 100,000 people meaning it will be amber on the UK travel list, but if they get it down to an average of 14k per day it will change to green.

We need to worry a lot more about Tuesday night.

As the match is likely to be late evening kick off, what do you do till the first flight out to Bodrum or Izmir on the Sunday? It would be an idea if TUI were doing package tours to Turkey in May but they aren't.
First flight to Bodrum 7am so not a great hardship

Another fall today to 28k cases

Has anyone got anything booked in Instanbul on the very small off chance that fans might be able to actually go to the game

Don’t care if fans can attend or not. I want to be there. I can cancel flights for future credit and hotel can be cancelled for free.

Yes, flight and hotel. I can change the flight if necessary and go for a city break. Flying direct from Manchester on the Thursday, back on the Sunday.

I think that there will be people at the game but it's 50-50 as to whether that will include travelling fans. Let's hope City get there.
