Looking down on 'glory hunters' is arrogance

what is a glory hunter though? i consider myself a City fan since November 9, 2002, when MCFC defeated MUFC. MUFC was one of the biggest clubs in the world and i began rooting for the team that destroyed them. is there glory in supporting the giant slayer? if so, name me glory hunter and i will proudly bear this title. times have changed since, and now you can call me glory hunter in a big number of senses, but do i give a damn? answer is no. Manchester City is my only team in football since my local team got folded two years ago. i went through real rough times when my hockey team that i was a diehard fan of and was acquainted to almost all the players got killed in an air crash a year ago. City helped me make through this. call me whatever, but i have City written all over me even though i have never been to Manchester and never hit the Etihad stands. i am proud to be a glory hunter.
I don't mean to sound arrogant but I always remain sceptical over the 'United excuse'

United were beaten twice in the league before we beat them in that derby.

what does it have to do with anything? it was second, maybe third PL game that i ever watched, and i never knew the standings or anything after a couple weeks after the game when the football paper concerning this gameday arrived to my little town in the Far North of Russia.

I don't have a problem with glory hunters at all, i'd be happy to open the flood gates to them.

All of our new supporters, due to them supporting a particular player, or because we're a team winning things, or the've been a part time fan for years and recent success has tipped them over the edge, doesn't change how I feel about City. Even if they have a much different way of appreciating the team than the longer standing fans do, it doesn't bother me because it represents us making our own History.

In a few generations, there won't be any jibes at our 'lack of history'. We'll have a healthy trophy cabinet, and pockets of fans all over the world, similar to Real and the scum. We'll be able to attract the really big name players who perhaps would still choose United over us at this current time. And maybe, just maybe, as we grow our fanbase and our brand, I can get in a taxi abroad, and when the drivers asks where I'm from, and I answer Manchester, he might start shouting "Ah, Manchester City," rather than our neighbours over in Salford.

I don't have a problem with glory hunters as a whole, more the rag type glory hunter that has little to none football knowledge and refuses to hear anything bad about the club or respect "Smaller" clubs

It's just you said you started following City after they beat United in 2002.

And I was merely pointing out that they had been beaten twice before then.

That's all.

I think that some dont like glory hunters for the fact that the more supporters City have then the smaller and less signifcant they feel..

i just dunno why you named this "excuse". care to elaborate?

Attracting glory hunters is exactly why new rich owners buy a club.
In order to do that the new club has to win silverware, it's just a business to these people. And as long as we are winning stuff I really don't give a flying fuck.

A lot of people say, "I started following City because I hate United..."

For me, I'm sceptical over that as a reason. I have nothing against you personally though, as you are probably trying to insinuate.
