Loons on motorbikes

How else are you meant to learn? You can safely learn the basics of riding on a 125cc easily by yourself. Also you are restricted to 125cc for a couple of years; no such restrictions for learner drivers.

You seem to be confusing 'learner riders' with tossers who don't care about rules or who they hurt in the process. That can apply to dickhead drivers as well. You don't need a license to physically drive a car illegally and drive like a lunatic.

Those who don't care about rules don't tend to care about the safety of others either.
Learner drivers aren't legally allowed out on the road unaccompanied though, are they ? I agree dickhead drivers abound just like dickhead motorcyclists, dickhead cyclists and dickhead e-scooters etc. Too many dickheads full stop.

Annoys me no end the clowns on push bikes that are out at night dressed in all black and no friggin lights on . And if i was unfortunate enough to hit one in my car i`d be the one to blame ffs

I work for a large Bavarian motor
Company, and our motorbike division has nobody working in It that actually rides motorbikes go figure !!!

Lost one of my neighbours and friends who used to come to the match with me and my dad. He was 17. It was devastating to me at the time as I was about 11/12 and he was my hero! Put me off them for life and I always look carefully when pulling out. Couple of other lads from our estate died on bikes too within 7/8 years of that too. I’m not a fan.

I always wanted to drive - never wanted a motorbike. Reason? Nobody ever overbalanced and fell off a car and if I get T-boned the car is there as some protection - my thigh isn't

When I was a kid you could ride a 250 cc bike on l plates that was capable of 100mph near enough. If the truth be told we all did silly things and the traffic wasn’t half as bad as it is today. The bike test was a couple of laps round the block and the examiner would appear to test your emergency stop.
My mid 60s 250cc twin wouldnt get anywhere near 100mph even downhill. What were you riding.
EDIT.
Meant to put in it was a BSA 250 twin, maybe that explains it;-)

Sundays round here after 10.00 am on a decent day, they call it ' Donor Day '. Seems like all the bikers from the midlands and the north west are out in their droves, Scooters, mopeds, sports bikes, the usually aging Harley Owners clubs, trails riders, Triumphs, Ducatis, etc etc, single guys out for a jolly all screaming through the valleys. It's a great sight and sound but by 10.30 the sirens are out, screaming through the valleys.........
At weekends I always drive with one eye on the mirror as these guys can really sneak up on you. I indicate and move over, give them space and even slow down a bit when a group come past, the occasional nod or wave is appreciated but the age of some of them, I'm surprised they can still walk unaided let alone ride.

I remember Stephen Fry telling a story - he had a great aunt who was called into hospital for a cataract replacement in a London hospital. The Surgeon went in to see her and said " we are waiting on delivery of your new lens but don't worry madam its started raining so the motor bike riders - or donors - as we like to call them will be arriving soon.....
