Mrs Dr JASR is an ex A&E consultant, she doesn’t have many rules for the (now not) kids, but not getting a motorbike is one of them.

Wife said, “No chance!” and calls them DONORcycles! She also says no BMWs, Mercs or Cadillacs…dickheads who drive like they think they own more than their overpriced wheels!

Sadly I am getting a bit old for it now but there is nothing quite like riding a well set up motorcycle properly on a good road,
The concentration needed to do it well & safely takes you to a different place in your mind, reading the road conditions, setting the bike up properly for a corner, etc, all you senses in tune with the bike & surroundings, hard to describe really but I genuinely feel sorry for people who have never experienced it.

One died yesterday. Police were following him for going through a red light and speeding and he came off the bike and died, they found a machete on him.

The rider died.

His pillion passenger (who was in a bad way) had the machete.

I hope you aren't implying he was a member of the criminal fraternity.
He was an apprentice gardener and was taking the machete to be sharpened as he had a particularly tough bit of bush to remove. - Probably.

I don't think this thread is aimed at well ridden bike riders, of which they are the majority, it's aimed just at the idiots, who have no respect for the rest of us, same with car drivers et al, who do the same reckless driving.

Sadly there aren't enough police to deal with these idiots, or let alone, even touch dealing with it.

One of my pet hates is these knobs trying to look tough on their Harley tractors that are usually louder than a 747. They give proper bikers a bad name. And it wouldn't surprise me if the have a couple of XL Bullies at home.

I speak as a long time enthusiast biker (sadly no more) who always di the right thing on a motorbike. (Ok I may have broken the speed limit a few times)
