Ahh yes our beloved daily mail takes a figure from thin air but fails to give published accounts from the former pm who’s just been paid £1.9 million for 9 speeches according to his status returns. I do like the irony though of Abu Dhabi appointing a Jewish lawyer who’s married to an Israeli woman. ;-)

I think the UAE & Israel have had a decent relationship for 25 years.

A former colleague of mine from back in the day who's still a friend on Facebook and in occasional contact with me knows Pannick's wife quite well (they have kids who are classmates) and is invited sometimes to parties at the Pannick home. When it was reported that Lord Pannick might represent City in the CAS case against UEFA, I asked my friend if she might do some digging for information for me. Unsurprisingly, she told me to piss off (but more politely than that).

I found that fascinating. I love a biography & like to pick books up of people I’ve never heard of from a background I’m not privy to so I found that small insight really interesting.

When you think of career responsibility & somebody hanging as a consequence, that’s tough.

I‘m in my 60s and my dad was Jewish, my mum Irish Catholic…brought up and educated under Catholicism. I lived in a council flat in Hackney as a child and I don’t need your casual racism.
