Lost a bit of interest this season

For me the whole Mancini sacking and Wigan Cup hangover killed my love for the game a bit. That said, non-league appeals more to me now
That killed you love?

Not the nineties?

I've told this story before I think but a few of us had an illuminating chat with John Wardle just before the Thaksin takeover. He was at a P&W branch meeting and he couldn't understand why fans moaned about City under Pearce when we were in the PL & just a few seasons before we'd been in the third division.

A few people said that the football may have been shit but it was an enjoyable in many ways as people reckoned things could only get better and were mainly going to games to have a laugh. There was that WTF type attitude and gallows humour that blues excel at.

Didn't miss a game home or away that season and without a doubt it was one of the most enjoyable for the exact reasons you gave.

The players - We've always loved a player that puts the effort in, even if they're not that great a player. But there are too many players who want the kudos and reward you get for playing for a top club but that don't seem to realise what the responsibilities that come with that are. I just feel I'm watching a bunch of mercenaries who have no connection with the shirt they were or us, the fans. Why should I make an effort just to see them make so little?

This is what is getting to me too, i know as an "armchair" due to location, i only lose a bit of sleep and my Foxtel subscription, compared to you guys that spend thousands following City.

Most of the players do not seem to give a fuck, they are (allegedly) professional athletes on mega money, yet you get the impression most are just happy to stroll through games and pick up their wedge at the end of the month.
It fucking sickens me at times.

Raring to go for the next couple of games though, strange.

I will always have an interest in the Club but the game is absolutely shit and as I'm growing I'm also growing to dislike the game.

Transfer/Agent fees need to go.
Salary Caps.
Set amount of British players have to play in every team.
Cheating bastards like Ashley Young need punishing.

The Rag monopoly in the game is disgusting. The FA have no backbone and our Grassroots game is underfunded and disgraceful.

Finally - Ticket price reductions and Public transport price reductions with your Ticket.

This won't happen though as the Business profit before people twats have a hold on all the clubs.
I'll be gone in a few years, easily replaced by some Hospitality daytripper from Cheshire

We lost more fans in the hungry years than we will ever lose now, and many were regular season ticket holders who just could not justify spending money for the crap that was on offer.

Like I said this poor start has put people on a downer we were expecting much better, when things pick up we will be head over heels again. We as fans have much to learn we are playing at levels never dreamt of, other top teams go through this ever few years

When we get back to winning ways interest will soon pick up, it’s just been a bit flat last season and this season so far
Your always positive Ducado . You must be new to supporting Manchester City football club . I went to see my non league team Bradford Park Avenue on Saturday. That was more enjoyable than most of Manchester City recent matches .

Only about 30 odd years! It's just as valid being positive as to be negative if you want to go and watch a none league side be my guest I will always support City and enjoy watching them

Well I have supported City about the same amount of time as you . But I don't get the same positive vibe you have .

Losing interest in City no. Although last season I didn't get so emotionally involved because I figured the title winning season wouldn't be topped and I spent most of last season thinking about how we won the title - a bit like our players did.

This season I was happy with the transfer business and intrigued to see where Ferran & Txiki take us so I am more up for this season than last.

That said the PL generally so far this season has been more dross than good with only the Everton/Chelsea match and Palace/Sunderland getting me going.
