I have an old 45 of 'Stand by Me' somewhere and the crackle at the beginning is part of its charm.

Sunday evenings listening to the top 40 on radio 1, waiting for the song you want to come around, then trying to tape it without catching any of the inane ramblings of whichever DJ was presenting it; those were the days. Young 'uns these days don't realise what they missed out on!
