One of many bad nights out in the cups. Won on aggregate though which means we can't complain about losing to bloody Barnet if Champs Lge logic is followed.Went to Barnet in league cup in 94 and lost 1 nil. The crowd was just over 3,000.
Great story although I guess it wasn't at the time. I also went to that one - really buzzing after that winFor that Newcastle game I went in a mini bus from The Volunteer in Sale for some reason. I only knew one other lad on the bus. After the game we ended up in a pub in Durham and I noticed that the driver didn’t seem to be shy about going to the bar and was wondering whether he was going to drive home pissed or someone else was taking over?
Anyway, it gets to kicking out time and he suddenly announces that he’s too pissed to drive home so is kipping in the bus and driving back in the morning. Another lad claimed he was sober enough to drive but the driver said only he was insured to drive it and with that let himself in the back and crashed out, leaving the rest of us looking at each other in a pub car park in the middle of the night, wondering if this was the best idea we’d ever had.
Ended up finding a student pub that was open for another couple of hours and then hanging around the train station waiting for the first train home in the morning.
Already mentioned that Millwall game, winner by Adcock. Around 750 of us in that corner.50 at most. No special. Just a small end in the corner with a butty bar in the middle. We won 1-0. Checked our head to heads with Millwall and we only won there 1-0 in the 80's once, so I must be correct with the date. Hired a car and 4 of us went. Asked a copper where to park when we were right at the front of Millwall's ground, it looked shady loads of Millwall around, the copper said causally just park hear you'll be alright, like fuck we did. We drove around for a while and came across the away car park right behind our away section. Went in watched the match with the other 50 City who had bothered to turn up and drove home without any hassle. I went to Birmingham away in the mid 70's and that was also a bad turnout. Went with Fieldsends coaches from Salford precinct as I was still at school. Had to go in the seats opposite their end. Apart from them 2 games it was decent away turnouts.
It was an OK turnout. Just one that will always stick in my mind as an awful away. Palace has to be one of the hardest grounds to get to being south London. Especially midweek.I went to that one in a car with 3 lads from work.
From what I remember there was a reasonable turnout.
Away end was packed. Quarter final and we’d already seen off Newcastle away against the odds. One of longest trips home mind you. Got back to the Parkside about 4 in the morning as someone had decided to “lift” the hot service counter at the motorway services straight onto the coach. Coach got stopped by old Bill and stopped us travelling.Palace away league cup - January 1995.
Wednesday night in the depth of winter. We lost 4-0. There were 16.5k in the ground. No idea how many city.

Yep, stuck down side of the pitch. Beat them 4-0 at home IIRC.Went to Barnet in league cup in 94 and lost 1 nil. The crowd was just over 3,000.
Went both, got service train early to cambridge and was a few spurs knocking about piccadilly very very early morning as they'd played u....d on the night before ( friday ). Was moody in cambridge and they were very active at the time General Muranyi and their firm was causing mayhem at the time as chelsea can verify not long after our visit. Was dearest I had ever had to pay for a seated ticket at the Abbey Stadium in cambridge that day £5 yes that was the start of it all ha ha. Carlisle was a top trip as was every one in them days we ended up in the boardroom, may have been some lowish followings compared to now but we went every game that was football of it's time but everybody knew eachother if not by name but by face normal fans and lads it didn't matter so much respect. Absolutely love those days in a different way I love today's games. It's what made me and many others. How many did we take to Cambridge in 1983? Crowd was only 5200 so can’t have been too many. Did anyone go to that? 0-0
Another low crowd was a 0-0 at Carlisle in 84. 6261.
