Bets apart, this one is dead. Everyone is poorer for this. If Uncle Fred in Brazil put twenty quid on final score in a couple of matches... pfft. Great way to ruin someone's career. In a digital age, it's madness. But you wonder what would trigger an investigation. Is it automatically flagged, and the bookmaker is obliged to report it?

Going to be interesting to see how the club deals with this situation. We were going through the process in a sound manner, and Paqueta screwed us in the 11th hour. Really hard to cultivate a plan D on the fly.

It sucks that we are getting screwed by stuff outside of our control.

This is why we shouldn't leave major transfer business until the last minute. Little time to sort out an alternative if it doesnt work out.

Every transfer thread on BM is nothing more than conjecture and gossip. The only people who know what’s really going on are the people involved in the transfers. I honestly don’t think the clubs pays much attention to what’s posted on the BM transfer threads.

Not that bothered by this.

Paqueta clearly has ability but all the highlights reels don't show me someone who fits like a glove at City, more someone who would need to adapt, or us bend to him. That kind of move is a bit of a risk, doesn't mean it wouldn't have worked out, but I do feel it would have taken time.

We'll be fine anyway, you can put your money on it.
