Lucas Paqueta investigated by FA for alleged betting breaches

For those who can’t access or don’t want to:

“The investigation started from a bet on Paquetá's yellow card in West Ham's 1-1 draw with Aston Villa, on March 12, for the Premier League.

The Brazilian midfielder took the yellow in the 24th minute of the second half.

Initial analysis showed that on that day several new accounts were created at Betway, account linked with people close to Paqueta, with users depositing the maximum amount allowed. These accounts made a married bet to increase the winnings: the authors would only receive the money if Paquetá took yellow against Villa and if the striker Luiz Henrique, from Betis, received the card against Villarreal, on the same day on March 12.”

That looks bad. Although the full story would need to come out. Big bullet dodged by the looks of things. Someone smiling on city with this leak before we spend a fortune.

This sounds way worse than Toney. Toney wasn't betting on games he was involved in at least.

If that’s true, and he was aware of it (which the tweet implies), then he should have kicked his last professional football.

Stamp it out. Stamp it out NOW!

Betting is going to ruin football. Fans won’t believe, Tv audiences will disappear, TV contracts will dry up, the game will implode from lack of TV ad revenues.

Make it crystal clear…

STOP ALLOWING BETTING ADVERTISING IN STADIUMS AND ON SHIRTS…ONLY ALLOW IT TO BE SEEN ON TV (they use this technology for baseball games here. Green screen type board that allows TV company to place any ad they want on screen!)

NO PLAYER IS ABOVE THE LAW

PROSECUTE UNDER CONSPIRACY & FRAUD LAWS, EVEN RICO STATUTES where they exist!

We are seeing the cancer spread into our game. Action is needed to nip it, if action taken today can even be considered “nipping it!”
