Why is it a twaddle?
We talk about a German player of best age - who already have been at Bayern and will not go there again. Actually - a lot of Ex-Bayern-Munich players like this have played in England.
Markus Babbel – Liverpool F.C., Blackburn Rovers F.C. – 2000–04
Michael Ballack – Chelsea F.C. – 2006–10
Dietmar Hamann – Newcastle United F.C., Liverpool F.C., Manchester City F.C. – 1998–09
Thomas Helmer – Sunderland A.F.C. – 1999–2000
Michael Tarnat – Manchester City F.C. – 2003–04
Stefan Wessels – Everton F.C. – 2007–08
Christian Ziege – Middlesbrough F.C., Liverpool F.C., Tottenham Hotspur F.C. – 1999–04
That is just the players that have played for Bayern Munich. Hitzlsberger came as a young player so I do not count him. All of this players have something in common - they left Germany somewhen after their 25th birthday... It is more than half of the Germans of the Bayern team that has played there in the 90s or beginning 2000s. In addition Nerlinger changed to the Rangers, some others went Austria were Trap was coach.

Cologne will have difficulties to keep him after this season. He is in his best age, leading the scorer list after 16 match days with 14 goals and 5 assists. They just cannot pay a player like this even if he is the mascot of the hole city, Prince Poldi of Cologne. And I cannot see him playing anywhere else but Cologne in the Bundesliga.
So - he is a transfer object. Not a fluke.
(Just in comparison - the poster-boy Marco Reus that is mentioned so often has only 13 scorers in a similar team). Even if he seems to have been there forever and even if he already has 95 caps and a lot of experience, he is born in 1985 and only 26.
