Lukas Podolski?

Dortmund coach Jürgen Klopp said: too expensive for a player, who shows his great talent very rarely.
Podolski answered: Maybe he is sad, because i said twice no, when he wanted to sign me. Or am i too expensive, because Dortmund has gone out of the champions league so early?

at least he won´t play in Dortmund next season..lol

Why is it a twaddle?

We talk about a German player of best age - who already have been at Bayern and will not go there again. Actually - a lot of Ex-Bayern-Munich players like this have played in England.

Markus Babbel – Liverpool F.C., Blackburn Rovers F.C. – 2000–04
Michael Ballack – Chelsea F.C. – 2006–10
Dietmar Hamann – Newcastle United F.C., Liverpool F.C., Manchester City F.C. – 1998–09
Thomas Helmer – Sunderland A.F.C. – 1999–2000
Michael Tarnat – Manchester City F.C. – 2003–04
Stefan Wessels – Everton F.C. – 2007–08
Christian Ziege – Middlesbrough F.C., Liverpool F.C., Tottenham Hotspur F.C. – 1999–04

That is just the players that have played for Bayern Munich. Hitzlsberger came as a young player so I do not count him. All of this players have something in common - they left Germany somewhen after their 25th birthday... It is more than half of the Germans of the Bayern team that has played there in the 90s or beginning 2000s. In addition Nerlinger changed to the Rangers, some others went Austria were Trap was coach.

-------------------------

Cologne will have difficulties to keep him after this season. He is in his best age, leading the scorer list after 16 match days with 14 goals and 5 assists. They just cannot pay a player like this even if he is the mascot of the hole city, Prince Poldi of Cologne. And I cannot see him playing anywhere else but Cologne in the Bundesliga.

So - he is a transfer object. Not a fluke.

(Just in comparison - the poster-boy Marco Reus that is mentioned so often has only 13 scorers in a similar team). Even if he seems to have been there forever and even if he already has 95 caps and a lot of experience, he is born in 1985 and only 26.

According to Swedish media (usually very accurate), Podolski to Arsenal s a done deal in a €15mil deal, a four year contract worth €8mil/year.

A good deal or not?

wont be as good as RVP who they will be loosing

Thats a great move by Arsenal getting Podolski in before the Euros still only 26 seems to be around the game for years. Great goalscoring record for Germany. I think this move if it is a done deal might keep Van Persie at the club. Look at Wenger he isnt fucking about he is doing it now and this might get Van Persie to sign a new deal. Forward wise with him and Van Persie it will be a more dangerous Arsenal.

Now all they need is to get a Vieria type midfielder to add a bit of the dirty stuff to there team and a winger and they could well be contending again next season. Wouldnt have minded him at City.

If he's there to play alongside Van Persie he is a really good signing and will probably play on the left for Arsenal. A Podolski/Van Persie/AOC attacking trio would be very dangerous. If he's replacing Van Persie than Arsenal fans are in for a disappointment I think as the current season is really the only one in his Bundesliga career that Podolski has had a great goalscoring record and he really isn't a top class goalscorer like Van Persie.
