Luke Brattan: Who ??

Yes, I am.

I don't think we should be in any way shape or from subsiding any of the clubs in the CFG.

No money should be taken out of this club's pockets, of which we contribute, and given to some tinpot club in New York or Melbourne. Especially without our knowledge.

Do you disagree or something?

Over simplifying here, but basically you're saying you're not happy with Sheikh Mansour spending his own money on what he chooses to spend it on.

I think you need to reapply some thought to your position on this. It's a little bit like a random guy on the street complaining about the owner of a company buying a new product and giving it to a sister company.

More like feeling you have the right to know what Tesco spends its profits on just because you shop there occasionally.

You didn't oversimplify, you created an outright strawman out of my point.

Sheikh Mansour can spend his money on whatever he likes, like he initially did with us to make us competitive. What I don't want, and do not support, is Manchester City's income being used to subsidise the other tin pots clubs in the CFG. And we contribute to that income.

No it isn't.

Right back at you.

Not happy about this, at all.

It's Manchester City football club who will be charged with this lad, not the CFG or Melbourne. It's money that'll be taken from our pockets. Marked up on our books.

Are we subsidising the tinpot clubs in the CFA now?

This is were a percentage of our season ticket renewals are being siphoned off to? The regular ticket price increases are going towards? Money from our pockets going towards some tinpot club in Melbourne/New York?

Do we receive any income whatsoever from the other clubs in the CFG?

As far as I know even if we did we wouldn't be able to count it under FFP, so it'd be more or less an irrelevance to us.

Really don't like this.

Please forgive my ignorance but what has this transfer to do with with the other clubs in the CFG?

There's only one person showing his ignorance on this thread mate and that's not you.

Right back at you.

Hang on a minute, are you actually advocating that even though HH Sheikh Mansour has invested over £1bn of his own cash into Manchester City, that you as a fan with your pittance contribution in comparison, feel you can pass judgement and approval on what the club does with it's finances?

Some extremely misguided delusions of grandeur my friend.

This is a Championship level player (if that), who will likely never play a minute of competitive football for Manchester City.

It's widely accepted that this is a move that will eventually benefit one of the clubs in the CFG, likely Melbourne. Who apparently have no room in their wage cap to accommodate another player at present.

I'm fine with that, don't give a shit, as long as none of Manchester City's income has been used to subsidise the whole move.

Widely accepted by who? My initial thought when I read this was that we could be bringing a player in on a free with a view to selling him on for a couple of million if he impresses on loan.

Sorry to give you the bad news......but I have it on good authority that they are using your season ticket money to pay his wages!!

Ah well......at least your contributing to something!

Not your friend. And believe me, there are no delusions of grandeur on my part.

Are you advocating that the supporters have even less say so than they do at present?

You want less transparency?

My only advocation is that I don't want a single penny of the money I give to MCFC, to support my local club, to be used for the betterment of some tinpot club on the other side of the globe rather than MCFC - especially without my knowledge.

Quite straightforward.

do you have any evidence to suggest that we're subsidising anything?

I should have more sense to comment on this but what makes Mr Own Goal believe that his money is contributing to this transaction. Sheikh Mansour continues to this day to pour money into the club. The first small profit we made last year goes little way towards the players bought in the summer. He will continue putting his own money in for years.

By the way, there was an immediate advantage in forming the City Group in that a couple of years ago the accounts showed that we had sold intangible property, etc to the group for tens of millions that helped at the time to get us a bit nearer to meeting the FFP requirements.

I'm sorry, but to quote a previous poster... Are you for real?

Some of the replies in here are really confusing.

My understanding of this:
We've picked up a player as a free agent, after his contract ended with Brisbane Roar?
And we've loaned him straight out to Bolton?

Is that correct?

If that's right, what's the the problem?

That's not true.

The club believed we could include those transactions, including 'selling' coaching expertise to NYCFC for example, on our books and count it towards FFP.

UEFA told us to get fucked and that it was ineligible to be counted, and was one of the reasons we failed FFP.

Tin pots and a season ticket holders money apparently
