Is it only me who thinks a lot of these Southampton lads are all over rated?

Nope you are not alone. Southampton will be laughing all away to the bank.

I get that sense too. If they were all that they'd have carried their team a higher position than 8th

That makes no sense, what about the Arsenal lads who came to us. Shaw is quality and it will be a fucking tragedy if he goes to the rags.

I haven't really watched lot of their games so I can't say yes or no based on that but it was looong time ago any English player was worth 20+ millions and we heard lot of praises for those that went before it happened.

FFS, that Wilson thing that scored 2 goals for Rags the other day got 10 articles on Daily Fail 24 hours after that.

If they get a player of quality of Rooney/Ferdinand/Cole etc. that fair play to them, not even 35 millions is too much when you get 10 years from such player but I'm not really convinced until I see it happen with English players.

Personally, would risk that kind of money only on Barkley. If he works hard and continue to improve, his raw talent could make him one of the best England had in decades.

Dont think Shaw is overrated. Maybe his price yes, but he would be the same player if he goes for 25m or 12m. Price tag can have an effect but he seems mentally strong player, focused, very good talent and if no big surprises happen he can easily spend 10 years at the top level...

will he be a truly world class LB that will be able to play well in CL level thats a different scenario, but compared to Jones or Smalling I think Shaw is a huge talent and world class potential is there.

I would love him here, behind Kolarov he would have 2 years in rotation with Kolarov and then he could be main starter...

Hope Soton tries to get as much for him as they can if he goes to United.

Lallana on the other hand for me is very talented but not sure has it to make himself the same influental player at a top club like at Soton. The pressure will be different for him at a top club, and as a creative midfield player he really needs to step up.

The price tag makes me cringe because of how young he is and how little experience he has. Would really be a big gamble to throw that kind of money...granted, it could pay off big. Would love to see what he's made of at the world cup. He'll probably be a rag before then though.

He is a great player and for one so young, he carries himself well too. He is however not worth anywhere near the supposed price the stupid rags are prepared to pay for him. Of course its not real money they are spending on players is it.. !

Liverpool Echo writes that Liverpool sent 25 mil. offer for Lallana... Southampton laughing all the way to the bank this summer :D

Then all the way to the Championship if the do sell..

Why, if they get 60 millions for Shaw and Lallana, that's quite enough to buy enough quality to keep themselves in Premier League.
