It's a game that a win will see us through to the knockout stages. This is against a half decent side who have already beaten us at home. We need our strongest side out. Phil can play in the Hoffenheim game and I am sure will get more opportunities in the future. He is only eighteen.

Not overly bothered Foden isn't starting, being young and from the academy doesn't make him any more deserving of a start, but I do think Foden is the better option in this case. it's looking like either a slight change in formation or mahrez/sterling in the midfield, neither of which are central midfielders. Also doesn't give us much from the bench should we need to use it to look for a goal later

Don`t understand all the fuss. Look at Harry Winks at Spuds, he`s still at the club he loves getting limited game time and he`s 22. Foden has plenty of time on his side.

That's the thing. We are going to win this game. Whether it was Mahrez or Foden. It should have been Foden.

He is one of the 6 central Midfielders. 3 of them are injured. Play the other 3.

I’m okay with Foden not starting. Got to play strongest team and Foden isn’t better than anyone he would replace yet. Sure he needs the experience but not at the potential expense of this game for me. Get a lead and give him 20-30 minutes if things going well.

Great team - Pep took the right decision, we win this and Foden and Diaz can start next CL game.

Would have liked Phil to start but I can see why Pep has done what he's done.
